    Hi Craig

Not far to go now, keep on trekking!

Apparently an announcement was made last Thursday night (didn't hear it but I apparently know) and we are waiting for a date because we have to wait for paper work. Something to do with that strange phone call, that early Monday morning before you went away.

About to leave work, everything is as you left it. Chaotic!

    Keep on walking!!!!trekking!!!!!think good thoughts….jacaranda…….jacaranda……..

    Hi Ben,

    Just another little update……..

Picked the keys up for the unit yesterday I also did the pre-entry inspection (Belinda helped me do this). The reality is definately setting in now and I am soooooo excited.

Only 2 full days of trekking yet to go…. and most of it is down hill…. how exciting although sad that your journey will be complete. You have done a brilliant job and so has all of your fellow kokoda nomads.

Matt from work said to say a big HI and wishes you well for the final legs of your trek. He wants to have a BBQ when you get back to share your stories with them.

Anyway honey won't take up too much of your time as I understand you want to experience everything possible…. I love you and think you are doing a wonderful job. A successful completion on the horizon.

    Check later for more updates.

    Love Kel tongue.gif

Hi everyone (especially Neil and Doug, Richard and John)

Well just 3 sleeps to go now until you are all home safely in your own comfortable beds.

Hope the muscles are not doing too badly and the senses of humour are still intact (as well as the soles of your feet!!)

Good on on you all. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep smiling and come home to us safely.

We love you very very much

    God Bless

    Rossie

Well my love, yet another day draws to a close.
No update today – but I am sure you are on target and ready for a good night sleep.
Each day seems to take forever – but the week has gone quickly.
I hope each day has brought you good times and happy memories.
Hopefully there are plenty of photographs to 'walk' me through… so I can share your adventure.

I seem to be busy every day!
Spent the morning with your Mum… we had a great time looking through pics of you growing up. You were such a cutie – still are! tongue.gif Yes – very biased opinion!

Had afternoon tea with my Mum – good to spend time with family. Will be going to a sewing class with her tomorrow – should be fun!

I hope you are taking care of yourself.
Miss you terribly – it is so lonely here without you.
It has been quite cold at night – miss having you beside me!
It's not the same cooking for one either!

Take care, love you muchly! wub.gif

Hi family trekkers. Not long to go now but I know that is easy for me to say.

John – I hope Richard has been behaving himself in the tent. I want to hear all about it when you get back. Well, may be not. Can't wait to hear everything else about your trek.

Take care and love you heaps.

    Hi you Kokoda nomads,

I was hoping to find an update tonight but I go back to the old philosophy that no news is good news. I have been enjoying tracking on a cross section map (that's the navigator coming out in me) over the days and it is hard not knowing where you are up to but I am sure that you are safe and in good spirits …. who wouldn't be when you are yet so close to the finish line.

I am sorry Ben but I have been to the EKKA to get you any Beertie Beetle bags this year. None to come home to – I was too sick to go.

Love you dearly and will check again in the morning incase something comes through over night.

Keep on enjoying yourself and I look forward to seeing the pics and hearing many of the stories.

    Lots of Love

Update 14th August: Trekkers tonight have made it to Eora Creek where they will sleep listening to the roar of the river. They are on a home run now. Tomorrow they will climb up into the village of Alola and then head down to the Isurava Monument. I do not know as yet where they plan on sleeping but assume it will be Isurava Village.

    Hi Craig

Eora Creek that's homeward bound. Having the sound of the river must be a beuatiful sound to drfit off to sleep with.

Nicholas has taken claim to your spot until you come home, I think I much prefer your snoring to his grinding of teeth.

James was happy to find his name in the school newsletter, they had a section for winners at the Mt Gravatt Show, they put his name and that he got second place for his submission.

Organised for mum and dad to go a see Get Smart before it leaves the cinemas, so that is dads b'day present from us. I had Kate take them because I had the boys and I have already seen it twice.

    They really enjoyed it!

Peaceful sleeping with the river sounds, keep on trekking and jac will be waiting for you when you get back.

That is Awsome news guys. One more climb and then the down hill run… yes I said run to get you some. Hopefully only two more days of hiking and then some fun, relaxation and a sense or achievement. Congrats you have done a fantastic job now but don't rush the end for its symbolism would be great seeing the monument and museum. Enjoy the ever changing scenary and the puns along the way as I am sure there have been heaps – Ben have you been writing them down for Bailey????

I am so proud of you so enjoy your last couple of days and keep looking after each other as you obviously are.

Love you Babe and can't wait to see you or even another photo of you and your group.

    Hi trekkers

I was a little concerned when there was no update yesterday, but I see there was one posted just before midnight and so this morning I am feeling greatly relieved that you all must be okay.

Wow not long to go now.

Falling asleep listening to the roaring river – what was that like??

Only two more sleeps now before your own beds.

Neil I am off to work this morning and then down to Nancy's this afternoon so I am there for Maddy's Birthday.

Stay safe. Keep laughing and smiling and putting one foot in front of the other.

How has the tent sharing been going ????????!!!!

    Love Rossie

Morning family of mine – hope you slept well – roaring river ???? Hmmmmmmmmmm ????? My guess is that none of you heard a thing and slept like babies. I hope so anyway –

Well, you should be able to see the lights of Kokoda in the distance, beckoning, you can make it, you can make it.
    Your reply is – I know I can, I know I can (not I think I can, I think I can)

Photos of other groups have been coming through and indicate that you may have had a great "run" with the weather – not too much rain or muddy patches – I hope this has been the case for you – thank you God !!!

Leah is off to the footy tonight – I will be the couch potato (well possibly a pumpkin) watching it from home. Hopefully we'll get one game in before the end of the season Dazza??

Not a great deal more news – is great to log on each morning to so many notes and words of encouragement from your individual families and loved ones. I guess some of these messages are getting through to you – much loved group of guys I would say – you lucky guys !!!!

Have you found Charlie yet ???? And Craig, nice to know Jac will be waiting for you – Who's Jac ??? (just jokes, I know he is a very good friend)

Well, two more sleeps and you have another adventure tucked under your belts. What's next ??Brought home some information on K2 for those of you who may be interested ??? Yes? No? Maybe?

Take care my loves – huge hugs and hugs and more hugs

    Di and mum

Update 15th August: We appear to have lost your trekkers! No news today and they did not reach Eora Creek last night.

All jokes aside, I am thinking someone must be struggling and they more than likely stayed last night at Templeton's I or II.

We heard from Arnold who is leading the other group and they have reached Deniki but he said no sign of trek 463.

Maybe they are having so much FUN that they decided to bunk down early yesterday and not push on to Eora Creek.

Tomorrow they are expected to walk out in Kokoda so will have to play catch up at some stage or other.

Rod would have called in if anything wrong so lets stay positive they are all OK!!!

Hi everyone – not long to go now. You must all be very proud of yourselves as you should be.

Looks like a great view at the end of your journey from the pictures I have seen.

Richard I will give Maddy a big hug and kiss for you tomorrow. Can't believe our baby will be 17.
Celebrations will be in full swing tomorrow and will conclude Monday night when we can celebrate together.

    Love you heaps

    Nan, Mike and Maddy
