MemberUpdate 21st September: We heard from John their guide this morning saying they were on the move and were at Imita Ridge and on the home straight. Tonight the plan is to overnight at Goldie River.
Tomorrow they will have one last steep hill to climb before they reach the archway at Owers' Corner to mark the completion of their trek!
Both the 'Kokoda Kids' and the POMIS High School students are spending their last night at Goldie so no doubt there will be lots of singing tonight being their last camp in the bush.
Will take pics tomorrow when I catch up to them all.

I am just so proud of you and miss you heaps. I have had no one to be cheeky to in the mornings!! Yes, I have been watching your progress, up with the birds and straight on to the computer. Several of the Bond Uni students have been asking about you and how you are all going. Spoke with Michelle at PSF and they have checked out your progress and can't wait to see you and hear about your trip.
In fact I'm proud of you all, your such a wonderful team. Thank you Sam, Gary and the Papua New Guinea guides. Can't wait to see you.!!
Love Mum xxxxoooo

MemberHI EVERYONE, they are back in Port Moresby! We slipped and slided our way to Owers' Corner this morning. The POMIS High School bus got bogged same with our truck but we managed to get in there and pick up the trekkers with the help of one of the POMIS High School parents. They all looked pretty muddy when we caught up with them but really really HAPPY!
Gareth could not walk and his guide John Derick Eroro was carrying him when we caught up with them. According to Gareth he carried him all the way up the hill at Owers' Corner (now this is quite a feat)!
Photograph: Gareth on the back of John and Lancelot Yauga's back for the climb up to Owers' Corner. Brendan Buka the fastest man on the track in both directions is the one with the axe:
