MemberOn Tuesday night we met up with our two trekkers, namely Ben Turner and Callum Johnston at the Gateway Hotel. Yesterday Wednesday 29th October they flew into Kokoda and were met by Kingsley Boropi their guide and taken around the Kokoda Station and to our Orohaven Camp in Kokoda.
After they booked in for their flight they were driven for a look around Port Moresby and the photograph below shows them on the steps of Parliament House.

MemberLast night they slept at Orohaven our camp in Kokoda. I spoke with Ben by sat phone earlier in the afternoon and they said they had just been for a swim in the creek and were enjoying themselves hanging out in Kokoda.

MemberUpdate 30th October:This morning they left Kokoda to head to Isurava Village where they planned on spending the night. We have not heard from them today but on average they reach the village around 3pm. Tomorrow they will walk to the Isurava Monument area before heading to Eora Creek.

MemberCongratulations Gail on the work that has been done at Kokoda Airstrip, I know you would have been the instigator in most if not all the fantastic work that has been done there. Just another reason why more people should trek with you as you put more back into the Country and specifically the Orokaiva people than any other trekking company. Well done, it looks fantastic and I look forward to seeing it once again one day.
Good luck to Ben & Cal also, you are with a great Group.
Best regards
Warren (Waza – Trek 83)

MemberUpdate 2nd November: Trek 439 spent last night at Myola Junction and this morning are heading towards Efogi the half way point. Both trekkers and our guide and porters are doing well. I suspect the PNG boys would have been thinking about the match between the Kiwi's and PNG held on the Gold Coast last night. I do not know if that was what you were watching or the match between the aussies and the kiwi's but either way perhaps their minds on the track was also on football!
