MemberI informed him that the pilot did not like the look of the weather and that it might be an hour or so before they would take off from Port Moresby so no rush, take their time.
As it turned out the company decided to do another run in the opposite direction before Kokoda which pushed our time out to around midday. As the aircraft only takes 9 passengers and there was 10 trekkers, it meant one person had to stay back for the second flight.
Turns out three decided to stay back and 7 came in on the first load. The flight landed around 1:15pm and the aircraft has now gone out to pick up the remaining trekkers and their guide Rod and Assistant Wallace who are coming in to wait for another trek coming up on the 9th August when they will trek again.
Photographs below are of the Kokoda airport.

MemberUpdate 4:15pm 3rd August: As I write this the three 'Bryant' brothers from Brisbane are on their way home as I met up with them at the Gateway Hotel and dropped them off at the International Airport about an hour ago.
I also met up with Martin Kear and Romany Topsfield at the Gateway Hotel all all five trekkers were really happy with their trek. They loved the experience and also being in the company of our KTL boys.
Refer below for photographs taken this afternoon:
