They have with them Rod Ori as their guide at a special request by ex trekker Andy along with Andrew Yauga as the assistant. Another requested guy is Wallace Lemeki who this time is walking as Andy's personal porter but is also one of our most trusted and loyal guides.

The photograph below only represents part of the group that will accompany this trek as in all there are 25 staff walking with no food drop carrying all the way.

The guy on the far right is Freddy Yauga and he is renowned for carrying his guitar that an ex trekker gave him with him each time he walks to keep them entertained.

This is also a special trek due to some of our staff using it to train for our KOKODA CHALLENGE RACE fast approaching on the 30-31st August. Andrew Yauga and Wilson left Kokoda last Wednesday and arrived at Owers' Corner on Friday. Today they headed back. Andrew commenced with the group from Owers' and Wilson flew in with a chopper to show the pilot where to land for a pick up today. He will wait for the group and will walk with them.

As our trekkers left for Bomana War Cemetery I snapped this photograph only seconds before they drove off.

The photograph below was taken not long before they headed down their first hill and on to the Kokoda Trail:

We found out from the track that they decided to stop at 'Goodwater' campsite which is Uberi campsite.

As I show you the next two photographs I am laughing to myself, why? you may ask.

On arrival back at base and when I put all the paper work together for this trek, I realised one woman had not signed her form and another guy had not handed his in at all. So out went a runner to get everything in order. I asked him to take my camera and to take some pics for me to post on the website.

However, I did not explain clearly enough it seems as the only photographs that came back was the pics of the two people mentioned above like I needed proof. Sometimes you just have to laugh.

So sorry no pics of the other trekkers but perhaps you can get a bit of an idea of where they are camped tonight.

Especially for those of us back here in Australia wondering if they are going OK! I have really enjoyed reading about where they are and seeing the pictures of the landscape!
