MemberTrekkers are now back here in Port Moresby having arrived around 11:30am this morning. Two are staying at the Holiday Inn and the remainder at the Gateway Hotel.
After meeting up with them this morning whilst tired, looking like they needed a nice hot shower and shave, they all appeared ok except for a few blisters here and there.
All of them were very supportive of our KTL boys – no doubt I will hear more later this afternoon when I meet with them again at the Gateway Hotel.
As I type this at 3:00pm they have been picked up and heading for the Bomana War Cemetery in our truck commonly referred to as KTL 2 as they missed going there due to their early start on the commencement of their trek and the cemetery being closed.

MemberUpdate 14th July: We met up with trekkers last night poolside at the Gateway Hotel and once again it was just great hearing all about their trek and experiences.
To each and everyone of them, a big THANK YOU from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking for choosing to trek with us and even though some did it really tough, they looked so proud of themselves last night having completed what they started out to do.
The men in the group had such admiration for the three women who held it together to finish in Kokoda along with our KTL boys who thoroughly enjoyed their trek.
I was telling them last night that Andrew their guide called me by sat phone and said he would have to speak in Pidgin English so the trekkers would not understand but that he had a big 'heavy'. When I asked what the problem was, he replied that his trekkers were playing jokes along the way and when they started out they said whoever had two pegs at the end had to shout two cartons of beer.
He informed me he ended up with the pegs and what could he do? I said they must be joking and he replied, no they are SERIOUS!
To solve his problem as Fiona did not complete the trek he still had her overnight money plus some left over money from his village money so I gave him permission to purchase two cartons of beer.
Trekkers were laughing last night as I told them about Andrew's BIG PROBLEM!!!
They then gave me their side of the story about how Andrew ended up with the two pegs….haha
Wait till your loved ones arrive back home, you will no doubt hear about KOKODA for a long time to come and what it meant to them.
Trek 423 – thanks again for choosing to walk with us.
