MemberUpdate 20th June: Have not heard from the track today but am assuming they will either be overnighting at Menari or will have pushed past to Agulogo.
Today after they left Efogi they would have climbed up to Brigade Hill before arriving at Menari.

MemberToday we had to pick David Beins up from Owers' Corner who you may remember commenced his trek by flying in with Trek 420. He was full of beans and is presently as I type this sitting up at the Gateway Hotel with his team of porters and guide celebrating their successful trek.
As we had to travel up to Owers' Corner we offered to drive Jeanette and Carmel who you will remember were airlifted off the track at Eora Creek. Refer pics below as they had an adventure of their own today.

First 4 taken at Owers' Corner, followed by Sogeri Monument area. The last two were taken on our way back down from Sogeri at Rouna Falls.

MemberOn the way back to Port Moresby we took them to the Bomana War Cemetery. Around 6pm tonight they both flew to Cairns which was slightly ahead of schedule but I am sure Jeanette is looking forward to catching up with her son who lives in Townsville.
Sincere thanks to Carmel and Jeanette for their company these past few days and also for choosing to trek with Kokoda Trekking.
We trust they will enjoy the rest of their holiday and judging by the number of stories they passed on to us, they thoroughly enjoyed their time on the track and with our KTL boys who they just raved about. Today Jeanette purchased for her porter Frank Taimbari, a double bed mattress for him and his wife. On the way back to my home tonight Frank came and saw me with this HUGE
GRIN on his face saying to pass on his word of thanks as the gift is truly appreciated. As its a 6 inch double foam mattress they were able to roll and compress and with pride Frank will take it home to his family tomorrow when they fly back to Kokoda.

MemberHi Katie
You guys sure are moving. Chin up, face up and all that jazz. And if you must tear up choose a chick to cry on this time not your poor ole pop.
And yes, cheers to Micky W too!
Top work!
We miss you.

Hi Craig/Dad/Daddy,
We have been logging on each day catching up on where you are at, and am very pleased to see that your adventure is nearly complete! Selfish of us really, as you may not want it to end, but we miss you terribly and can't wait for you to come home and tell us all about it.All is fine here – same old, same old……..Sleep, eat, work, school, eat, sleep etc etc etc….Rather mundane I guess in comparison.
We are very proud of you and send you heaps of love…..See you next Friday…

MemberHi All, David here! I just arrived back in Sydney and am very much thinking of you and the extraordinary journey we've had. Thank you Carmel and Jeanette for coming to meet me at Owers, it was great to see your smiling faces again. I don't know about you guys but I've already decided to do it again one day. Maybe I'll build up my strength first!
All the best, and keep in touch (dmbeins@hotmail.com).
