Update 19th June: All messages were read out after they had eaten their evening meal around 7:30pm. This would have been a late night for them out on the Kokoda Track as most trekkers are already tucked up in bed by 7pm.
I had the pleasure this afternoon of driving Jeanette and Carmel down to the Pacific International Hospital to obtain a doctors report to enable Jeanette to travel home. She got the green light so all is good.
Naomi, I think your Mum is showing signs of possibly coming back one day to complete her trek…perhaps you might like to come along and trek with her for encouragement!
As for the other trekkers, I spoke to several tonight and they seemed in good spirits and looking forward to the other half of their trek.
Tomorrow we will drive up to Owers' Corner to pick up the lone 6 day trekker who headed out the same day as trek 420. Jeanette and Carmel will drive out with us so they can at least see what they missed by not walking through the archway at Owers' Corner. They joked that they will pretend to David that they sneaked past him while he was sleeping at Nauro!
Sorry can't post any more pics of this group until they come out as the photographs I have posted have been from my database of pics. Unfortunately technology is not that far advanced here in PNG that they can be emailed into me from the track….I wish!

Am sure you've had many special moments along the trek and that you've felt the spirits of those who've been there before you; what a truly unique adventure you're having! Congratulations on your amazing achivement thus far, everyone at the dog park says hi Katie!, love Nuala, ps I noticed there was a huge Benson puddle in the first park this morning, no doubt you miss your boy nearly as much as he misses you! ps you're not allowed to cry now that I've mentioned Benson!

We are keeping an eye on your progress daily and happy that you have received our message. Sad about the ladies having to end their Trek but guess its better to be safe than sorry. Glad you are toughing out your journey and that you are more than half way there….sure there will be many stories to tell of your adventures. Brian, great to hear that your knee is holding up and that the Crown Boyz are doing us proud and are all in good spirits….hope that Joe and Mike (scallywags) are behaving themselves and not causing too much havoc. We are enjoying reading the messages…big thankyou to Boss Meri for being the go between you and the outside world….we see that she is burning the midlight oil and sending her messags late at night.
