    G'Day All You Intrepid Trekkers

You all looked raring to go in the photo – especially Helen!

Have a great trip. I thought you would be back by the time I worked out this email thingy, but I've done it so you can too. Enjoy yourselves and don't forget to look after my cousin Helen.

    Regards Aud.

Update 2nd July: Have just heard from the track today that trekkers are doing just fine and planning on spending the night at 1900 Myola Junction. One or two are struggling a little but still doing ok.

Update 4th July:Trekkers headed out from Efogi this morning and ended up at Agulogo where they will spend the night.

Doug is struggling a little but doing ok.

When we spoke to Wallace and John Derick today they appeared to be really enjoying their trek.

Update 6th July:Just received a phone call from John Derick Eroro saying they had reached Goldie River where they would camp tonight and would be up at Owers' Corner around 8am tomorrow morning.

It seems the boys were planning the welcome ceremony for them when they walked up the last hill and through the archway at Owers' Corner.

Update 8th July: As planned we picked up from Owers' Corner yesterday trekkers from trek 417 who were all VERY HAPPY they had successfully completed their trek.

Hence CONGRATULATIONS are forthcoming from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking as the boys just loved walking with you all and shared in the joy of getting you all back to Port Moresby.

To Doug, who informed me he was 73 and a 1/2, excellent effort!

Photograph: Yesterday Doug led up the group from Goldie River where they had wrapped him in bandages for him to walk alongside his porter per the famous photograph of DickWhittington and Raphael Oimbari refer below:
