MemberThis morning saw us say goodbye to three trekkers namely, Nigel Forrester, Cameron and Daniel Mathison when they flew out to Kokoda in our chartered aircraft along with some porters returning home. They all seemed really keen and ready to GO
These guys hit the Kokoda airport and commenced walking straight up to the Kokoda Station and on the track to Isurava Village where they planned to overnight.

MemberUpdate 5th May: We heard from the track that everything is going ok. Nigel it appears has now got a personal porter and the two brothers are pushing along doing just great according to Tarina their guide on this trek.
The last time he called they were at Alola Village. Last night they would have stayed the night in the Templeton's area.

MemberTarina radioed in today from Naduri Gap saying they were all still going along ok. It was really hard to hear him properly. Tonight they will be at the half way point of Efogi where they will pick up their food for the remainder of their trek.

MemberUpdate 8th May: Tarina just radioed in from Maguli Ridge saying all trekkers and porters were doing just fine and are now on the home stretch. Last night they spent at Agulogo and today they plan on passing by Naoro and heading for Ofi Creek. If they have plenty of time left they might even push on down to Ioribaiwa Village. As I always say, our treks are not set in concrete, its up to the guide and how everyone is walking as to where they decide to stop each night. We only have one exception and thats Efogi as all our treks stop at this point as its our half way food pick up point and a chance for trekkers to enjoy a good rest before moving on.

MemberUpdate 10th May: On the 9th May trekkers moved all the way down to Goldie River where they planned to stay the night. However, we had a drop off late yesterday re trek 470 and they ended up coming in last night and staying at the Comfort Inn.
This morning they were picked up and driven out to Bomana War Cemetery. As I type this they are in our vehicle with their team of porters and guide and are heading for the Gateway Hotel where they will spend tonight.

MemberIt also seems we have a new mascot. Freddy Yaugu bought himself a stuffed animal and it has appeared twice in photographs that have been given to me to upload.
His brother Horace who stays in Port Moresby as part of our scholarship for him to finish his schooling is pictured in one. Then this morning I noticed it sitting on the front of our troopcarrier at Bomana War Cemetery.
