MemberToday we said goodbye to four trekkers who flew out to Kokoda round 7:30am this morning in a chartered 9 seater flight along with some of our porters returning home from their Anzac Day trek. Trekkers included:
Ian Winter and Jonathan Winter (father and son) along with husband and wife Brinley and Kiara Brace
Yesterday they were part of a large group of trekkers that were driven out to Bomana War Cemetery on the outskirts of Port Moresby for the Anzac Day service.
Photographs: Taken at Bomana Anzac Day Service – Bomana War Cemetery 25th April. Ian can be seen on the left hand side in the pic below. Brinley and Kiara are on the left hand side in the back of our truck KTL2.

MemberUpdate 28th April: We just received a radio call from Isurava Monument area to say trekkers are presently there and that all are ok. They spent last night at Isurava Village. After looking around the monument area they will make their way past Alola Village and will bed down for the night at Eora Creek Campsite area.

MemberUpdate 29/04/08 Trekkers spent last night at Eora Creek and today are on the move to Myola Junction 1900 campsite. I just spoke to their guide David Clark at 8am this morning and it appears Kiara has been vomiting but this is not uncommon for this area for some trekkers.
David has confidence she will be ok.

MemberAah, good old 1900.
I look forward to seeing that place again soon. These updates are great and it's handy to see what the track is looking like at the moment. It helps me work out if I'm likely to get a little "bonus trekking" up Sogeri road due to the weather.Cullen

MemberUpdate 1st May: David radioed in this afternoon to say they stayed last night at Efogi and that today there were heading to Brown River (Agulogo) where they would spend the night. When he called they were at Brigade Hill. All trekkers were doing well with Ian out in front and leading the group.

MemberUpdate 3rd May:Trekkers have made it to Goldie River and will walk out tomorrow morning under the archway at Owers Corner having completed their trek.
Before they reach the top however, they will have quite a steep climb which even the porters do not look forward too at the end of their trek.
The plan is to leave Port Moresby around 7am to drive out to Owers' Corner to pick them up. On the way back into town we stop off at the Bomana War Cemetery. All going well they should be back in their hotel by midday.
