Our logo is of a trekker with his hand stretched out to a porter. For anyone who has ever walked with Kokoda Trekking (KTL) the logo speaks for itself. For anyone thinking of choosing us as there preferred Kokoda Track operator, our boys is what helps to make your trek.
Its hard to explain before you head out on the track but you will all know the meaning when you come back into Port Moresby. They will help and give you encouragement all the way from start to finish. You get to share your life with them and vice versa. When you are feeling down, they will surely say something that will lift your spirits. When you get to a part on the track where you think, wow, now this looks hard, you can bet they will be right beside you ready to take your hand.
I asked one group of trekkers what they felt was they got out of their trek. I was surprised when one guy replied, I never thought I would ever walk holding another man's hand. However, I found myself holding my porters hand day in day out and I am proud to say I have never met a nicer bloke, I feel as close to him now as I do to my best friend back in Australia.
Yes, its hard to imagine, how in 8 days of walking you can grow so attached to your porters but believe me it happens:

MemberOn behalf of Management & KTL Staff, we would like to thank each and everyone of you for choosing to trek with us. We trust you thoroughly enjoyed your trek which by all accounts last night proved you did. We look forward to welcoming some of you back again and/or your family and friends.
You all did extremely well; our boys loved walking with you and you did not give us any medevac's…
Well done to each and everyone of you,
bye for now
