On the 24th April we met up with trekkers in trek 381 at the Holiday Inn and later the three remaining trekkers at the Gateway Hotel. Trekkers include :
Andrew White; Peter and Ben Storer; Daniel Greig; Mitchell Clark; Daniel Logan; Jason Frost; Cameron Foote; Coling Perry; Ken Hill; Dean Longmuir; Nathan Dannock; Graham Binder; Stuart Gray; Pamela Dalgliesh and Matt O'Halloran

DSCN0794__Small_.JPGTrekkers arrived in Kokoda where they were met by their guide Rod Ori and porters. They commenced walking straight away and ended up reaching the Isurava Monument area around 8pm that night.
The following day they enjoyed the dawn service put on by the Australian High Commission before moving off along the track.

IMG_0922__Small_.JPGOur guide radioed in from Alola and said everyone enjoyed the service and that they planned on spending the night of the 25th at Eora Creek Campsite.
Today we heard from our guide at Mt Bellamy and he informed us that everyone in the group are doing just fine and walking well.

Copy__2__of_Efogi_Guesthouse_area__Small_.jpgUpdate 27/04/08 Rod radioed in tonight to say all trekkers have reached Efogi and all are ok. He advised that three extra personal porters were engaged for Daniel Greig, Daniel Logan and Nathan Dannock so now they have in total 24 KTL staff looking after them as they make their way back into Port Moresby.
Tomorrow or the next day they should pass another of our groups heading in the opposite direction so we can only imagine a few high five's and hugs as our staff greet each other. Trekkers will no doubt compare the terrain on either side. Some Anzac trekkers who have not long come off the track would say that they would hear about all the mud ahead and think it could not get worse than they had just experienced.
Not long after they leave Efogi tomorrow they will reach Brigade Hill one of the most historical areas on the track which will be quite emotional for some.

Copy__5__of_Brigade_Hill__Small_.jpgUpdate 28th April: Trekkers are on the move to Agulogo where they will spend the night with the exception of one, Pamela who has decided to call it quits at Efogi due to her suffering from diahhorrea. We have asked her to rest and wait for our food drop later this week when we will pick her up and bring her back into town by chartered aircraft.

IMG_0964__Small_.JPGUpdate 29th April: Trekkers have reached Naoro Village where they will spend the night. All trekkers are doing just fine and enjoying their trek according to their guide Rod.
As for Pamela, the only chance to get her out of Efogi was to pick her up with our food drop today and fly her into Kokoda. Yes, she is back at the starting point. Tonight she will staying our camp and will fly back in tomorrow on the regular airline service. Unfortunately the flight today could not bring her back into Port Moresby as the plane was picking up a full load out of Kokoda. However, the good news is that she is ok and resting in Kokoda. We will ask if she would like to drive out with us in the pick up vehicles on Thursday.

Update 1st May: Trekkers are on target to come off the track tomorrow and will be picked up from Owers' Corner somewhere betwen 9-10am. Last night they stayed at Ioribaiwa Village and tonight will try for Dump 66.
All going well they should be back in their hotel rooms around 3pm or before tomorrow afternoon.

Update 3rd May: Hi everyone. We met up with the trekkers yesterday and again last night…boy were they a happy bunch! Smiles all round! Last night it was party time and everyone seemed to enjoy their last few minutes with our KTL boys before we called it a night and headed for home.

Gail, firstly thank you for the opportunity to walk the track, it will remain a highlight in my memory for the rest of my life. Can you do me a big favour please, and pass on my sincere thanks to firstly MACK, and also JOE who assisted me in my plight to reach the end of the trek. I honestly would not have been able to complete it without their support and dedication. I need to say if it hadn't been for Mack on day 1 I don't know if I would have been able to continue as day 1 was extremely difficult for me. Mack was the most patient guy I have met in a long time, he provided support that inspired me to get to the end of day 1 and thus set me up for the remaining eight days. He is the ultimate professional and would in my mind make an excellent guide for future treks, the junior guys really looked up to him as a role model in my mind.
When I got the extra assistance from Joe it seemed like the world had been reinvented for me, his humour and conversations made the walk even more enjoyable. Between myself, Joe and Mack, I believe, we as a trio had the most fun during the nine days on the track compared to the rest of the trekkers, that was made quite clear on most days when we got to camp and the rest of the guys were stuffed but I would get into camp still laughing and generally enjoying myself, they would just look at me and say what are you on and my reply would be I am running on Mateship man, between me and my porters. There were some days some of the guys would walk with Mack Joe and myself just to see what it was like and they all said that they were the best days.
