Around 10am yesterday 27th August we said goodbye to a group of our trekkers who left on a chartered Tropic Air flight to Kokoda. Trekkers included:

Marcus Jones; Wayne Jackson; David Dooley; Neil Ferguson; Wayne Hollitt; Dr. Jeffrey Hanna; Eric Hessling and Graeme McConnell

On arrival at Kokoda airport they were all met by our guide Rod Ori and various porters who work for us. After looking around the Kokoda Station area, they were to overnight at Kovelo the first village along the trek as invited guests of Rod and his family.

Update 29th August: After spending the night at Kovelo as guests of Rod Ori and his family, trekkers moved off yesterday towards Eora Creek.

Part of their walk yesterday would have found them at the Isurava Battlesite area.

Our guide called in from Alola Village and said they were all doing just fine. Neil decided to hire a personal porter at Isurava by the name of Jove.

Last night they would have slept listening to the roar of Eora Creek and would have crossed over the river before heading up to the campsite:

Not too sure where they will stay tonight at this stage but will walk today through the area known as Templeton's Crossing before heading for 1900/Myola Junction campsite.

Update 31st August: Trekkers have now reached half way, the village of Efogi where they will spend the night with another group of ours heading in the opposite direction. All trekkers we have heard are doing ok which is great news. Tonight they will sleep on mattresses and pillows which should give them all a thrill. Efogi Guesthouse is also renowned as the best on the track so comfort compared to others they would have slept in so far.

Heard from our guide Rod twice today, once from Imita Ridge and again from Dump 66 saying they were on target to come out tomorrow as planned. He seemed really excited knowing he got all his trekkers this far and was confident at this point they would all make it to Owers' Corner.

He reminded me that one trekker had to return to Australia late tomorow afternoon.

At the time of writing our truck is bogged up at Vesulugo from a trip earlier today and our troopcarrier has gone to the rescue.

All going well they should be back in Port Moresby around midday tomorrow.

All trekkers were picked up from Owers' Corner yesterday and are now back in Port Moresby. I caught up with them yesterday when I drove out to pick them up. They all appeared to have had a great time with Rod Ori and our KTL boys.
