Boss Meri
MemberUpdate 3pm 15th June: Have just heard from our driver Chris that trekkers are now at Bomana War Cemetery so all going according to plan.
They will no doubt be looking forward to getting cleaned up…THAT MEANS A SHAVE…new clothes, hot showers, perhaps a beer or two tonight….
John radioed in from the track asking for a booking to be made at the Yacht Club for tomorrow Saturday at 11am.

MemberWelcome back lads and congratulations on all making it back in one piece. Tanya has personally offered to massage each of your feet on your return – she said she doesn't mind if you don't wash them first.
I missed not doing this trip with you but I'm already to go for "Return to Kokoda – The Search for JB".
Look forward to sharing a Pale or three with you on your return to ADL.
Cheers,
Dan & Tanya

Update Saturday 6:30pm: Have just caught up with the guys at the Yachtie this afternoon and managed to upload some more pics off Andrew Yauga's camera so thought I would post it here under your post.
They have come up with a NEW NAME for their trek: JB & his Dickheads!

MemberUpdate Saturday 16th June: As I type this trekkers and porters are sitting at the Royal Papua Yacht Club enjoying lunch and I would imagine a few SP beers…..one guy was missing in action namely Philip Mason who failed to show up……
I received a phone call from Andrew their guide at the Yachtie mentioning this so I said, leave it to me, we will find him.
A quick phone call to the Gateway Hotel a short time later found him in his hotel room about to jump in a taxi and head to the Yacht Club to join everyone. I told him about the phone call and he said he was out sitting by the pool.
This morning as best I can make out with the exception of Phil, all went out craft shopping at Boroko with our KTL boys to help keep them safe. I do not know what they all drive back home in OZ but here in PNG they have been moving around in our people mover KTL 2….PERHAPS I SHOULD GET A PIC, what do you think? Now that one could be shown around the board rooms!
Actually here in PNG its a common vehicle to move large numbers of people and is tough enough to drive on the Sogeri to Owers' Corner road with our Troopcarrier and Prado. Not too sure what they drove in yesterday as the troopy was up there as well as KTL 2.

MemberComments from trekkers upon completion of their trek:
Wonderful trek, the greatest thing I have ever done outside of wedding, kids etc!
For me the boys made the trip special. Andrew was a great leader, he worked very hard and ran a happy ship and could not do enough for us. Chris was also great. A lovely bloke whose knowledge was fantastic. Both of these guys are gems and a credit to their company.
Little Kenny whilst shy was a champ. All in all, it was hard but a great experience.
Thank you to all at Kokoda Trekking

MemberThe most amazing thing I have ever done and achieved. I wasn't fit enough and paid the price. The porters saved me, with the help and encouragement from my fellow trekkers.
The porters leader "Andrew Yauga", was magnificent, as was my personal porter Nathan. I will NEVER forget them and will treasure every single step with the ANGELS.
Thank you Andrew, Nathan, Chris and the other porters and thank to JB and the other Dickheads.

MemberLost our porters at Imita Ridge (I'm very funny!)
The experience was truly inspiring! Will find it hard to explain and do it justice at the same time.
Andrew and Chris were first class. The boys couldn't do enough to help us and they were like "Angels on our shoulders" all the way. Chris' knowledge of the battlefields was of great benefit to me and made the whole trip that more relevant. Well done KTL
Cheers

MemberThe pre trek expectation of this being the adventure of a lifetime has certainly been achieved. My porter Paul and all the KTL team, helped us experience (and finish) a wonderful trek.
It was tough, fun, spectacular and very wrothwhile.
many thanks

MemberA wonderful challenging and rewarding experience. My Uncle served and was killed in PNG (Battle of Wau) and to trek through the famous locations was moving.
To have my two sons with me (Angus and Andrew), and for them to see these places and appreciate what these very brave selfless hero's did for the 'Defence of Australia' was something I will treasure for the rest of my life.

MemberA fantastic trip! Worth every bit of effort and then some.
Andrew, Chris and the rest of the boys helped to make this so special.
A mention to my porter Jairus from Ilimo Village, who was absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much and always there to lend a helping hand with the tricky bits and the river crossings.

MemberWhat an experience! Beautifully complimented by a group of boys who were there to help at every turn. The way we were managed by Andrew and Chris was exceptional. Not only managing the boys, but reading our different fitness and exhaustion levels.
The best part of each day was getting to the top of a hill and met by Oro! Oro! Oro!.
The guys really opened up and helped us across the line.
Website was a great resource for the family and friends back at home.
