Thanks ever so much to you all who have posted – excellent! I will pass on messages as soon as I hear from Andrew their guide. They are real low at the moment and radio messages start to flow when they get up to Kagi.

Last night I heard from John Derick by sat phone who is leading another group that started the day before but overnighted at Russell's family block in Kokoda. John's group headed off first around 6am and reached the Isurava Monument area.

Your group would have arrived in Kokoda around 8:30 and by the time they moved off to the station it would have been say 9am. A look around and the time on the track itself heading to Kovelo more likely around 10:30.

They would have reached Isurava Village after a tough walk up test mountain. As this is the first real tough climb they have given it this name as it allows them to judge the fitness of our trekkers and to know what it is going to take for them to get their trekkers to Owers' Corner. Some trekkers want to turn back at this point but they convince them its ok if they can see they are on average the same as everyone else on day 1.

Yesterday they caught up with John's group and they all spent the night at Templeton's 2. Andrew just loves to SING so if they were not too exhausted, I can imagine with two of our groups at the same campsite, there would have been MUSIC and uke'ule playing but will just have to wait and hear the news. They might have all been so tired, they all fell off to sleep early.

Will keep you informed when I get the next update as I passed by John a message to Andrew informing him he had messages waiting for him to be read out.

    Guys,

Keep up the good work, remember 'there ain't no mountian high enough, there ain't no valley low enough, there ain't no river wide enough to keep you from …… Kokoda!!!!

Wallabies just beat Fiji 49 – 0, Lote man of match.

All is well here and very relaxed, as we have just received 2 jars of Anti Flamme!!!

    Have fun, Sarah

Thanks once again for your postings….hopefully tonight I will be able to read them out as they should reach Kagi Village.

About an hour ago I heard from John Derick re 'Trek for Tom' and he said their was going via Naduri to Efogi and Andrew with your group of friends was heading for Kagi as planned.

Will keep you posted when I hear more from the TRACK

    In the meantime…..KEEP POSTING!

Did I say Kagi base…..a message just in from Kagi….they walked straight through and have headed for Efogi to spend the night so once again will be in the same campsite as our 'Trek for Tom' trekkers.

Sooner or later Andrew and your group will have to break away as 'Trek for Tom' is on a 9 day trek and not due out until the 17th whereas this trek is out on the 15th.

I am suspecting this trek to skip Menari tomorrow and head straight for Nauro. The following night Ua'Ule Creek and out the following day at Owers' Corner.

Photograph: Efogi Guesthouse area. Will have to wait to hear whether they got to sleep on mattresses or in another guesthouse or in their tents as the Trek for Tom trekkers were there earlier than them and would have grabbed the main house I can only assume. Either way they will be looked after well as Landy Noel does not disappoint and him and his wife spoil our trekkers:

    G'Day Lads,

Tanya and I still aren't pregnant but the thought of you all sweating up those hills focuses me on the task at hand. Hope Day Three went well for you all.

    Cheers,

Well finally I'm allowed to post a message. The system kept barring me. Something you want to tell me chaps! It all looks pretty gruelling. Not at all like the 50 drinks I had last night catching up with girlfriends. Different strokes…..enjoy. Is it raining? Cause weather reports in the region suggest heavy rain. Love you all and love your work!
