We met up last night with a group of trekkers who were recommended to trek with us by Harry's Heroes which was a nice welcome surprise as its always nice to know that past trekkers tell others of their experience with KTL.

We advised the group their flight was down for a 8am departure and to be ready in the hotel foyer by 6:45am. I heard one guy say we meet in the foyer at 6:30am so knew this group were not going to miss their chartered flight to Kokoda.

This morning all went as planned and trekkers were met by our driver Chris in our Troopcarrier and Russell Eroro in my Toyota Prado and driven down to Hevi Lift to be weighed etc.

All went according to plan and they left right on time.

Photograph: a group photograph shortly before take off at Jackson's Airport, Port Moresby – Hevi Lift Departure area. Trekkers were pumped up AND READY TO GO! – they are …

Andrew Yauga, their guide can be seen here on the left of this picture with a black bag over his shoulder which contained all their trek needs including trek radio; sat telephone etc. As mentioned to trekkers last night, Andrew has proved popular with ex trekkers. He was invited first week in January to the Lord Somers Powerhouse camp in Victoria and later to the Bollinger group of trekkers in Sydney for a couple of weeks holiday before returning to PNG on the 8th Feb. The guy on the right inside the aircraft is another very important member of our team, Dickson who is a plumber by trade but who is jack of all trades. His main job is to pack all the food for our treks. On the bottom right is our mechanic Roger who services all our vehicles both in Kokoda and Port Moresby including our tractor lawn mower.

The guy in the blue shirt with dreadlocks is Crissley Boropi their assistant guide:

Good start lads. There was a large cardboard box being unloaded from your plane – is this JB's mini-bar fridge? Miss you already.

    Cheers,

Hi John, Greg & Glenn, Great to see the effort you're making, looks as though it is hard to replinish Greggy's duty free happy bag!!!! Hope the chaff isn't to bad. QLD won State of Origin and Richmond still hasn't got a win. Carlton young guns going okay. All the best look forward to a Beer on your return. Cheers Paul & Team
