Update 2nd July:Andrew Yauga the guide on this trek radioed in today and said all trekkers were doing ok but he had a problem. When we asked what the problem was, he replied that they were missing a couple of days food for two of the trekkers.

We asked, did you check thoroughly before you left Kokoda and he replied yes but now the ration packs were missing. This only happened about 18 months ago when they blamed the 'bad spirits'!

As there is no chance to get more ration packs into where they are, we asked that they share what they have between them as our ration packs are designed so that most people cannot eat everything in them anyway, so hopefully they will manage along with village food Andrew will buy along the way. They will pick up their half way food at Efogi in a day or so.

However lets not loose focus on the 'good news' … all trekkers are doing ok!

Due to a backpack that appears to have gone missing re previous entry, today we took out to Owers' Corner a couple of porters to walk in more food from this end to make sure trekkers and porters have enough to eat to get them to the finish line.

Update 6th July: Trekkers are now up at Owers' Corner waiting for a pick up. They are presently being picked up by our vehicles and after a stop over at Bomana War Cemetery, they should be back at the Airways Hotel around 1:30 – 2pm.

Loloata Dive Resort will be meeting up with them at the Airways Hotel upon arrival from the Bomana War Cemetery.
