MemberOn the 5th November trekkers were picked up from various hotels and taken out to Bomana War Cemetery at 8am. A short time later they were on their way to Owers' Corner where they were introduced to the porters that were to become their 'Personal Porters'.
We heard from our guide today who radioed in from Ioribaiwa that they spent last night camping at Uberi. Today they have decided to push on to Ofi Creek.
A few of them are struggling but all going well so far and they appear to be having a great time.
Trekkers include : Candice Hood; Simon Smith; Daren Morris; Margaret Meadows; Galen Kanti-Paul; Justin Peters; Peter Low; Daniel Bynon; Patricia Kailola and Elizabeth Harkness

MemberUpdate 9th November: After moving off from Ofi Creek trekkers moved up past Nauro and down to a campsite not far from Menari.
The next day they walked into Efogi where they spent last night in what is commonly referred to as 6 Star.
Today they are on the move again and called in from Mt Bellamy the highest point on the track. All trekkers are doing ok but it appears the guides now know what it feels like to be a 'porter'!
Their guide John mentioned that everyone appeared to be enjoying their walk which is great news.
Tonight they will spend the night at Templeton's Crossing I.

MemberUpdate Saturday 10th November: Trekkers are now at the Isurava Monument area where they will spend the night.
As a joint decision, it seems they want to push on to Kokoda tomorrow instead of spending another night on the track.
The end result will now mean they will walk off the track tomorrow instead of the 12th as originally planned.
They are all walking quite fast it seems and it appears want to get to Kokoda and have time to look around and clean all their gear before heading back into Port Moresby.

MemberUpdate Sunday 11th November: Have just been talking to our guide John Derick and have passed on your message. Galen was informed and has replied as follows:
We are all doing well. 'HE WHO IS NOT HERE SHOULD NOT BE JUDGING! was his reply…..
The group has now reached Deneki and as per my post yesterday, trekkers will walk out in Kokoda probably around midday.

MemberAs you can see in the Deneki area choko's grow wild and per the photograph below, a village woman can be seen picking some leaves for her evening meal. They will then wind their way out of the forest cross over small creeks and so on until they are finally out of the bush.

MemberCongratulations to 'Trek 354' as they have successfully completed their trek by walking out in to Kokoda earlier today. Trekkers are now resting at my business partners family block in Kokoda. Tomorrow they will have another relaxing day in Kokoda before flying back into Port Moresby on the 13th.

MemberUpdate 13th November: Unfortunately the flight into Kokoda was cancelled today due to bad weather. It has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 8:30 weather permitting.
Not good news but better to get them in safely than risk the bad weather. We do not normally get much rain here in Port Moresby but last night and today it rained quite heavy.
The down side is that three will miss their early morning flight and will have to try and reschedule.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

MemberUpdate 14th November: Its still raining quite hard here in Port Moresby but we have heard it has stopped in Kokoda. As a result Airlines of PNG have decided to try and fly into Kokoda and their aircraft left here at midday.
Trekkers were advised at Russell Eroro's family block and are presently being driven to the airport in anticipation of the flight arriving from Port Moresby. If the flight manages to land in Kokoda trekkers should be back in Port Moresby in approximately an hours time.
Will keep you all posted as to the latest once we know ourselves.

MemberUpdate 12:45pm: Good news, the chartered 'Airlines of PNG's aircraft' has just landed at Kokoda so hopefully trekkers will soon be boarded and heading for Port Moresby.
