Chris is quite talkative so I can imagine them sharing lots of stories along the track. He also wrote our KTL song that the boys continue to sing on all our treks. So lots of singing and uke'ule playing I would imagine as they work their way towards KOKODA

MemberHi Patrick and Bill
I love the latest photos – seems like you are handling it OK if not always staying dry…! Thought you might like some Rugby results:
England 36 Def Tonga 20
Aust 36 Def Canada 7 (Nathan Sharpe and David Lyons injured – SHarpe may be OK for the Quarter Final)
Fiji 38 Def Wales 34 – a FANTASTIC game – lead changed a few times and Fiji scored a try in the last 2-3 minutes to re-take the lead. Wales now OUT. Fiji to play Sth Africa in Quarter Final
Scotland 18 Def Italy 16 – Scotland through to Quarter Finals
Argentina play Ireland tonight to decide the top three out of France, Pumas and Shamrocks. Stephen Larkham still in doubt for the Quarter Final because not yet recovered from post-op knee infection.
Australia play England in Quarter Final next Saturday – maybe you can watch it in Port Moresby after a few beers and a Pizza?? Just don't miss your flight home on Sunday morning.
Missing you lots and thinking of you. Stay well, look after each other and keep going strong.
Love Amanda

MemberUpdate Sunday 30th September: David just called in from Brigade Hill saying they were heading for Efogi. He was at the back and the trekkers had already moved off so could not read out your messages. I told him to catch up so I could read them out. He promised to radio back in later in the morning but added the trekkers are having a great time and enjoying their walk on the Kokoda Track.

MemberUpdate 10:45 Sunday 30th Sept: Have just read out your messages to both Barb and the guys.
Ian, Barb said she wishes you were here to help TOO! She sends her Hi to Gail and others as well.
As for Bill & Patrick, they were really excited about the footy SCORES!!! Loved hearing that Fiji are still in the competition!
At the time I spoke to them they were at Menari having an early lunch and relaxing before heading down to Efogi where they will spend the night.

MemberHi Mum – All the photos are fantastic – love that we can see you everyday still – feel a lot better now!!! I spoke to Mrs Barnsby and Bradie last night – they are checking you out also – saw you got a message from them.
I e-mailed Curtin – haven't heard anything yet, but I haven't checked my e-mail yet – so will do after this! The trek looks wonderful and the scenery beautiful. We were thinking about going to the Royal Show today but looks a bit rainy – has been really hot the last few days – you would have loved it (almost swimming weather!!).
Well keep going strong Mum – we are with you all the way xxxxx Love Melissa

MemberHi Billbo and Patrick, you are both looking suprisingly OK and very svelte in your pictures. We hope you are enjoying yourselves as much as possible – maybe it isnt as hard as you thought it would be!!
Hows the snoring going? Hope all are sleeping OK. All going Ok here – multiple sleepovers and a few late night pickups with Bugsy but so far managing OK. Nanna stayed last night and we went out for a three course meal….maybe I shouldnt talk about food. Was glad to see you tucking in to your rations in a photo Bill – keep up your strength. I am concerned about Patrick as he is fading away!
I have been watching football – weird I know but I am missing you heaps and it is a connection with you ( as well as the top deck chocolate) Keep on trekking and will write again tomoz. Love Annie30/09/2007 at 11:46 am #96301Chelsea

MemberUpdate 1st October: Have just not long spoken to the group who are on their way to Myola Junction and was able to read out your messages.
All three were quite excited to hear from family back home.
Barbara rattled off several things but as I do not take shorthand in summary she loves you all, said she is past the half way point and feels she CAN MAKE IT all the way to KOKODA. She send her love to you all and misses you but was just so excited to hear from you I could tell.
With regards to the two brothers, they said it was VERY TOUGH but they too are hanging in there and are now on the home run for Kokoda.
At no time has David their guide had any reservations that they would not make it to Kokoda which is great news! As our boys always tell trekkers, its just one foot after the other, its not a race, just take your time, walk at your own pace and you will get there. Seems like these three trekkers are doing just that and you can get ready to start celebrating along with them come Thursday when they walk out in Kokoda.
Last night they spent the night at Efogi which is commonly referred to as 5***** (five star) for accommodation along the track. The trekkers are spoilt there and get mattresses and pillows to sleep on along with a water tank that has been converted into a wash room to shower in as an alternative to washing in the creek.

MemberUpdate 1st October 11 am: Received a two way radio message from the Kagi gap saying they were well and truly on the way and would make 1900 where they would spend the night. The inspiration from people who have posted will help push them onto finishing their mission.
Barbara is still doing it the toughest but with Chris Suma as her guide he is doing everything he can to assist her and from what I hear she is lapping up all the attention and having a great time out there.
