Update 18th September: Congratulations to Trekkers who walked out in Kokoda today and are presently overnighting at Russell Eroro's family block in Kokoda.

Airlines of PNG have been chartered to fly them back into Port Moresby tomorrow. The flight is down to leave here at 8:40am but we will have to wait and see if its on time.

Update 19th September: Trekkers arrived back in Port Moresby as planned on an Airlines of PNG flight approximately 11am today. Unfortuantely due to weight restrictions, their luggage got left behind in Kokoda. Airlines of PNG advised they would send a flight over tomorrow to pick up the luggage but unfortunately everyone is flying out first thing in the morning so will definitely not get charged with excess baggage!

Tonight we met up with the group again at the Gateway Hotel and handed out 'Certificate of Achievements' and a t/shirt so at least they have something to wear back home! However with the exception of a couple, most were sporting the t/shirts they had done up in Australia prior to coming to PNG which featured the Queen Alexandria butterfly and the words Charleville Mob.

Following are some photographs taken tonight:

Comments from Steve Schaffer-Steel: My seond Kokoda Track with Davidson and other members of the 'A' Team (Joey, freddy, Bill etc) and met Nelson on the track.

    This track was very different.

Different campsites. Lots of MUD and walking through Kagi was very interesting (sing sing & earth tremors).

Davidson, as always was wonderful, understanding, patient and tireless, as were the porters. I told my fellow trekkers of how good the porters and guides were and they 'were' amazing and good.

Great trek, harder than last year, but just as rewarding!

    Steve,

On behalf of Management and KTL Staff, we would like to thank Steve for coming back and trekking with us again and for bringing along with him a whole lot of new recruits who appeared to have enjoyed their trek.

The faces told a story today, that yes it was tough but hey they made it and now can go back home and skite to all their friends.

Thanks again each and everyone of you for choosing Kokoda Trekking (KTL) as your preferred Kokoda Track Operator as its much appreciated by all of us.

bye for now, hope to see some of you again.
