Update 14th September: Firstly let me apologise for no updates as the radio network has been down and we have not had any feedback. All our treks carry a sat phone however but only use it in an emergency.

Today we heard from Rod Ori their assistant guide who said they had stopped in Menari for lunch and that later they would move down to Efogi if everyone was up to it or remain there the night.

It seems one lady got in very late the night before around 10pm so it would depend on how she was going today as to how they would push on.

It was funny out at Owers' Corner when one of our porters noticed the same lady who was smoking at the time and asked if he could be her porter so they could both 'smoke' together. I guess he got his wish as she is the one struggling and I assume they are having lots of smokes together! I am always trying to encourage our boys to give up but its a lost cause on a lot of them.

The radios are still playing up but all going well they will have overnighted in Efogi tonight which is considered the 'five *****' guesthouse on the track!

Update 14th September: I was wrong they ended up sleeping the night at Menari (13th) and now tonight (14th) are sleeping at Efogi.

Two females are doing it tough but hanging in there. All others are doing just fine it seems. Tomorrow they walk into Kagi and hope to catch up with one of the walkers mothers who plans to fly in to meet up with her daughter. However its started raining so here's hoping the flight can still go in as planned.

Trekkers even have their own dining room:

The shower is a converted water tank but it works quite well, plus the added convenience of a tap nearby to wash clothes:

Update 15th September: We heard from our guide today saying trekkers had reached the village of Kagi. At the time we made contact they did not know whether they would be overnighting in Kagi or moving on to 1900 campsite.

Our guide Davidson called in by two way radio today when trekkers were on the move from 1900 up to Mt Bellamy. The plan is for them to overnight at Templeton's II.
