MemberTrek 318 headed out to Kokoda today all looking excited the big day was finally here. Trekkers are:
John Martin; Geffrey Hansen; Gorden & Luke Povey; Trever Wenham; Kenneth Brown; Michael McKechnie and Andrew McGee.
Today they will spend a relaxing day in Kokoda. This afternoon they were going to be driven to a large creek for a swim which I suspect is where they are at the time I am writing this.

MemberUpdate 22nd July: These trekkers are used to being on their feet and proved this today as our construction workers created a record today when they walked from Kokoda to Isurava Monument area by 11am where they were supposed to spend the night.
As it was still early they decided to push on to Alola Village where our guide Tarina stopped them. He mentioned tomorrow that they would have a shorter day and the plan was to reach Templeton's Crossing II.

MemberUpdate 23rd July:Do not expect to hear from our guide Tarina today unless there is an emergency when he will call on the sat phone as they are down low and radio contact is hard. However, if yesterday is anything to go by, he will have to pull them up as they are going quite fast and may come back in quicker than they were supposed to.

MemberUpdate 25th July: Sorry could not update until now as my internet has been down.
Trekkers are still doing extremely well having walked from Efogi to Nauro and then pushed further down to the next campsite yesterday.
The only hickup was the planned food drop was supposed to fly in on Tuesday but was delayed until yesterday. Trekkers walked ahead and the food porters stayed behind in Efogi to pick up the food. The airline company could not deliver until mid afternoon into Efogi so we ended up splitting it into two drop offs. This trek and another one were dropped off at Menari but the boys still had quite a fast walk to catch up with their trekkers who had walked ahead.
We heard late yesterday that they would all have met up around 7pm last night.

MemberUpdate 26th July: My apology, I thought yesterday I heard that Tarina had pushed past Nauro whereas in actual fact he stopped at a campsite area before Nauro. Today trekkers walked through Nauro village and then went on down to Ioribaiwa where our guide Tarina called in to say they were all doing just great.
Tomorrow they will walk down to Goldie River and will be up bright and early at 8:30 at Owers' Corner on the 28th as planned.
