MemberThis morning all trekkers of Trek 305 had a 7am pickup to be driven down to Hevi Lift's hangar for their 8am departure 15th April. All trekkers looked pumped up and ready to GO. Unfortunately the only problem was that they were combined on the first flight with Trek 363 and due to weight restrictions and fuel requirements all their baggage remained behind and followed on the second flight.
It would have given our trekkers time to have a look around before picking up their gear and heading out on the trek. Both treks were going to start trekking the same day and not overnighting in Kokoda.
Their guide Cyprian Haera was at the airport to greet his trekkers which include :
1. Ziad Gazal
2. Peter Pyriotis
3. Andrew Williams
4. Peter Trubshaw
5. James Montgomery
6. Robyn Christie
7. Andrew Chanmugam

MemberUpdate 20th April: Trekkers are now back in Port Moresby having been picked up today. This trek was our 6 day trek and while the majority completed their trek we had a few withdrawals as follows.
Ziad Gazal was having problems with his feet and decided to fly out from Efogi. Peter Pyriotis did some ligaments in his knee and decided at Brigade Hill to turn around and go back to Efogi and fly out with Ziad. They are both now back in Australia.
As for Robyn, she was looking at some puppies who it seems were born in a pit toilet. Whilst peering in looking at them their mother came along and bit her on the back of the knee. She pushed on for another two nights but ended up with an infection and had to be airlifted out by chopper from Nauro Village, a very disappointed woman as she was certainly fit enough to finish the trek.
All others are ok and are looking forward to a get together tonight with our boys at the Gateway Hotel where they plan to have dinner.
