MemberOn the 14th we met up with Trek 304 and drove them out to the Bomana War Cemetery. That night we had a trek briefing and the following morning at 8:00 am we dropped trekkers off at Owers' Corner for the adventure of a lifetime!
On the night of the 15th July they spent the night at Ua'Ule Creek campsite and all trekkers did really well for their first day of walking.
Update 16th July: Their guide is Arnold Jinga and he radioed in today to say they were on the move and had reached Ioribaiwa Village. At this stage all trekkers are doing ok.
Trekkers in this group include :
Chris James; Katrina Carter; Kellie Paterson; Beth James; Brian James; Jacob Orbell; Kerry Harker and Shannon Crake

MemberUpdate 18th July: Last night trekkers spent the night at Menari and will push down today to Efogi Village. Only one person a female is doing it tough due to rashes and blisters. Her porter is going to try and get her to Efogi very slowly today where a final decision will be made to airlift her off the track.

MemberUpdate 19th July: Trekkers have now moved on down to Templeton's 1 where they will spend the night. I have not heard from Arnold asking for a trekker to be air lifted out of Efogi so can only assume the lady in question is heading for Kokoda!
I was not talking to Arnold as my husband took the radio call. However, he said Arnold mentioned all trekkers were doing ok which is excellent news. At the time he called out he was at Mt Bellamy the highest point on the track.

MemberUpdate 21st July: Received a radio call today from Arnold their guide saying they had reached Isurava Battlesite Monument area. Apparently the trekker experiencing blister problems is struggling again but being so close to Kokoda the boys will get her there even if they have to carry her.

MemberUpdate 22nd July: Today our trekkers walked into Kokoda Station to the finish line. They had a look around the Kokoda Station and then moved down to Russell Eroro's family block where they are spending the night before travelling back into Port Moresby tomorrow Monday 23rd July.
One trekker has a temperature and was taken to the hospital for observation.

MemberUpdate 23th July: Trekkers will board our chartered flight back into Port Moresby around 2:30pm today and should be back in their hotel rooms around 3:15pm. The trekker who was sick last night turned out to be Beth. According to a spokesperson at the hospital, she is ok now but apparently had eaten a doughnut bought at the local market yesterday and may have had food poisoning.
