All trekkers enjoyed their welcome to Kokoda and started taking heaps of photographs.

Photograph: A proud moment for Paul Esiko as he leads his first trekkers for 2007 into the Eroro family block. Just look at the expression on his face and that of Alf.

Day 2:We left Kokoda at 8:45am in KTL 1 Russell Eroro's Toyota Hilux and headed to the Kokoda Monument area. Donna Sullivan still had her mother's day flowers as she posed for a photograph with Paul Esiko.

A short time later we arrived at Kovelo Village. We then started walking towards Deniki where we had lunch at the creek.

When we arrived at Isurava Village trekkers were very tired but happy to get to the village early. They enjoyed the first day of walking. We sang heaps as we walked along and the trekkers seem to have enjoyed our music.

Day 3: We all got up at 6:00am and put on the hot water for tea and had our breakfast at 6:30am. We started walking at 7:05 and arrived at the Isurava Battlefield Monument area sometime later where we stopped for a 30 minute break whilst trekkers walked around.

We had an early lunch at Alola Village where we bought fresh fruit before moving onto Eora Creek where we arrived at 3:25pm.

Day 4: From Eora Creek we departed for 1900 at 6:30am. We were all making fun with trekkers and thoroughly enjoyed the day to the fullest. Jerom our KTL porter started getting sick at this point and it was very hard for him.

Just look at Alf in this photograph, does he look like he is enjoying himself or WHAT?

Day 6: We left Efogi at 7:00am and departed for Menari. All trekkers were all happy for the timing that I gave. We all made fun with them and made them foget the distance of their walk. They enjoyed the day as we moved onto Menari. They learnt new things also experienced our culture and climate at the same time.

We all had dinner at 5:30pm and went to sleep around 9pm

Our sick porter was able to get a jab in the bottom at Menari and he started to come good after that but we all helped shared his pack out allowing him to walk free. This is mateship after all and we wanted him to complete his trek. For him he had the courage to continue knowing it was really hard for him.

Day 7: At 6:30am we had breakfast and departed at 7:00am. We arrived at Brown River at 9:30am and had an early lunch at 10:00am. We then headed for Naoro arriving there at 1:10pm. Trekkers were very happy because every campsite we got to early since day 1 to day 8.

The trekkers were so close and opened up with each other and with the porters and were friendly so much so by now we were one big happy group.

I spent K30.00 on some coke that was for sale for our porters and purchased K20.00 wrok of pig meat and K10.00 for some village food to eat at Nauro campsite.
