MemberOur second trek for the season, trek 227 has left Port Moresby for Ower's Corner this morning 28th March:
Trekkers are:
Guy Cotterill
Greg CotterillMy husband described them as nice fellows…after the drive around Port Moresby yesterday.
Trekkers will be driven out to Bomana War Cemetery by Russell Eroro along with our guide and porters personally selected for this trek before heading to Ower's Corner, the drop off point. Their guide will be Rod Ori who represented PNG in short distance running and who last year entered our 24 hour challenge race. In order to be the guide for this trek, Rod chose to walk in from Kokoda instead of flying as he wanted to use it as training for this years race. He walked it easily in two days with a couple of others training with him such as John Derrick Eroro.
Guy & Greg will finish their trek in Kokoda and then fly to Tufi for some R & R before coming back into Port Moresby. We at Kokoda Trekking wish them a safe and happy trek and know that Rod and his team will do their best to ensure this happens.

MemberHi everyone, sorry have had problems with my internet and emails since arriving back in PNG last Saturday and really miss my broadband like you wouldnt believe.
The update on this trek is that both trekkers walked into Kokoda this morning and are overnighting at Rusty's Kokoda block before flying out tomorrow to Tufi.
According to Russell they appear fit and well.
No doubt they would have had a swim in the creek near the block and if they are drinkers they would have drank some beer possibly like these guys from a trek in 2005.

MemberOur two trekkers caught the flight around midday today to Tufi and will return to Port Moresby on Sunday.
According to Russell they had a great time and sat up last night until 11pm telling stories before turning in.
Due to the late arrival in Kokoda, they were able to sleep in and enjoy a relaxing morning before heading for the airport.
