This morning a group of 15 had an early start to be at Airlines of PNG in time for a 5:30am book in.

Everything went well and trekkers boarded their flight to Kokoda. Sometime later they all returned as the airstrip was covered in fog. They then decided to leave these trekkers in Port Moresby and do our food drop into Efogi along with trek 143 B a group of 7 along with some of our porters returning home.

They joked that they got to sleep in and still beat 143A to Kokoda. All jokes aside this flight landed in Kokoda and the aircraft came back to collect the offloaded earlier flight.

By 11am all trekkers were in Kokoda enjoying the hospitality of the Oro Province and Russell Eroro's family.

Trek 143 B seen here outside the Gateway Hotel around 8am this morning. There was supposed to be an 8th member of this trek but he came down with a fever whilst in transit to Cairns and decided not to trek and returned home.:

Have just received a sat phone call from John Derrick Eroro saying that both 143 A & B have all arrived safely at Isurava Village where they will spend the night.

John Derrick Eroro is the guide for Trek 143A and Cyprian is the guide leading Trek 143B.

John Derrick Eroro is seen here on the left in this photograph after our first Black Cat Trek in April this year.

Trek Update – Trek 143 A & B: All trekkers from both groups spent last night at Efogi the half way point and all were going well. Only problem was that the 'bad spirits' had been there first and got all of Trek 143 B's expatriate food.

Do not panic, we had plenty of other food there for other treks so John Derrick and Cyprian were going to raid their boxes. We will pack now for whatever they borrowed from other treks and will send in tomorrow on a charter as we have two people to pick up from Menari.

Trek 143A: Trekkers spent last night at Naoro and will spend tonight at Ofi Creek.

All trekkers will then join together at Va'Ule Creek and walk out together at Ower's Corner around midday on Monday

    Jackie,

Have had trouble contacting you. Hope you get this in time. We have all been thinking of you everyday, wondering how you are going and giggling every time we go to the toilet wondering how you have coped. Leah says to say "keep going old yellow" and Mum and Dad say "Go girl you're a star!!". Dan, Lili and I are so proud that you have stuck to your gun and followed through on this amazing journey..Can't wait to hear all the tales and see the photos….Lili says "love you to Kokoda and back Nana!!!!"

    Love you heaps,

Dan, Simone, Lili, Athalie, Terry and Leahxoxoxoxoxox
