Trek 134 Headed Out Yesterday With 8 Trekkers

As mentioned by Jessie, trekkers are on schedule to walk into Kokoda tomorrow where they will overnight at Rusty's Eroro's family block.

Rusty's brother John Derick is their guide so they will get a chance to meet and mix with their family.

17 siblings in all, 14 real brothers and sisters, and 3 adopted children from their mum's sister's family when she died suddenly when the children were only small.

9 children and their families are still living on the family block. In Kokoda they will be welcomed with a sing sing, a great dinner and a typical Oro Province Welcome.

Update 4th September, 2005;

Trek 134
The group has already arrived in Kokoda. All trekkers are well, made it safely and are now relaxing at Russell's family block. Like Gail said, they were welcomed by the traditional dancing group as they entered the block with smiles all across their faces.

I'll probably give them a radio call later on today, and see if they have any messages for you loved ones back home. Yesterday, they could not pass on any messages, due to not clear reception.
