    When I met up with trek 127 trekkers on Monday night, four of them looked shocked and didnt know what they were going to do….why, coz their backpacks did not arrive on their flight.

    They explained that they had to wait until the following day around 1:30pm for the next days flight to arrive coz they had no gear.

    I quickly relaxed them at the briefing and said no worries, you get your gear and we will drive you out separately in the afternoon to Ower's Corner.

    So everything went ahead as planned and the following morning we drove two different lots of trekkers out to Ower's Corner and returned to Port Moresby around 11am.

    However later in the day around the time we were supposed to be picking up the group from the hotel for the second trip, we received a radio message saying one of the earlier trekkers had taken ill with a suspected heart attack.

    Obviously this got our first priority and around 2:30pm our driver Kei departed with the following trekkers destined for Ower's Corner where they ended up camping for the night.

    Update: Have just heard from our guide Johnsford and he says everyone is doing ok and they are at Imita Ridge. He said however that Jeff Laing has just asked to hire a personal porter.

    After spending their first night up at Owers Croner yesterday evening, the group was up early to kick start their second day of walk. Although, they came through a tough start, all trekkers handled it well, maneuvered the slippery slopes with good care and climbed up safely to the top Imita Ridge.

    They are planning on spending the night, somewhere along the foot of Ioribaiwa Ridge, however that is not confirmed yet. But if they do give us a call later on today, we'll update you all on their latest progress.

    Update 22nd September, 2005;

    Trek 127
    Johnsford and his group were at the top of Maguli Range, when he called in to give us their latest progress.

    He said at the moment they are taking a rest, but soon will head down to New Nauro, where they are planning on spending the night. Despite the many ups and downs and the slippery hill and rainy days, the trekkers are enjoying the trek and looking forward to making it to their next designated campsites.

    No injures have been reported or problems, everything?s fine and everyone?s doing really well.

    Till then more updates to be posted up tomorrow.

    Update 23rd September, 2005;

    Trek 127
    The group left Nauro village early this morning and where up at Nauro look-out when guide Johnsford called in, to update us on their progress.

    Said all trekkers look fit, they are all happy and very much enjoying their trek. No one?s having problems or difficulties at this time, all are fine and doing terrific.

    They are currently near the river side and soon will reach Menari village, where they will have lunch. It is not confirmed yet, where they will camp for the night, but Johnsford will let us know when they get to Menari.

    Other then that, everything seems to be going ok.

    The group has just arrived in Menari village. They will camp there for the night, and tomorrow will push on to their next destination.

    All are well, no report of anyone facing difficulties or problems.

    It's still a big time, so I'm sure they will have a good rest, and regain enough strenght for tomorrows walk.
    Otherwise, it's all over and out from KTL Base, and we'll talk to them tomorrow.

    Update 26th September, 2005;

    Trek 127
    After spending the night at Iora Creek, the group was up early this morning to start yet another dayt of walk.

    Although the weather looked up a bit dull, all trekkers were up and bright and looked excited for this was their second last day of walk. With a nice cup of coffee to start off with, they kicked off well and now reside in Alola village, where they are taking a break. Soon they will head on up to Isurava Battlefield, to be followed by Isurava village.

    It is not confirmed yet, where the group will spend the night, but if we get the latest report from their guide, you'll be sure to know.

    Other then that, all is well and everyone's doing fantastic.

    The group has now arriver in Isurava village. All trekkers did grate and are now relaxing, after a fair bit of walk. They will camp at Isurava tonight and tomorrow will come out to Kokoda, which all trekkers are looking forward to.

    Though the sky looks a bit dull, there?s no sign of rain, only the nice breeze.

    Till then, further updates will be posted up tomorrow.

    Update 27th September, 2005;

    Trek 127
    This group has also completed their trek and are now settling down in Russell's family block in Kokoda. All are well, over joyed with happiness, that they have at last finised the trail in one piece.

    CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL TREKKERS AND BIG THANKS TO THE GUIDE AND PORTERS FOR TAKING GOOD CARE OF THEM.

    After they had settling in at the block, they were then entertained by the traditional dancing group from Kokoda.
