    The plan this morning was for an early start ie try to depart from the Gateway Hotel by 6:30am.

    The road out to Ower's Corner was wet and muddy and it was a slow ride. Eventually we arrived and all trekkers got away around 9am.

    Update 22nd September, 2005;

    Trek 121
    Apology to all viewers and family members who have been constantly keeping a watchful eye to see updates on the website, but have not seen anything since the group started.
    Due to bad weather out on the trail in the last three days, we were unable to make any radio contacts with the group, likewise, their two-way-radio was not able to transmit or get a clear reception to get a hold of us.

    However today, I finally got a call from the group?s guide Tony, who gave me their location and the trekkers? conditions. He said they now reside in Nauro village taking a time out break and soon will head on down to Menari village where they will camp for the night.

    ?It has been very tough this last 2 ? 3 days. We?ve experienced heavy rain drops like we never expected. The grounds here is very muddy and slippery, but we are all maneuvering the track with grate care. Everyone is doing fine, still holding their heads up and going strong. The weather is still dull, so it looks like it will rain again," reported Tony.

    Other then that, everything's ok, everyone's fine, and we'll hear more of their progress tomorrow.

    I red all messages to Tim, Mel and everyone else and they were very pleased to hear from you all, and they said to say thank you.

    Jessie,

    Pass on our best wishes to Tim, Mel, Paul and all on T121.

    Message:

    Bit slippery hey?

    How many times have you hit the deck Tim?

    Hope your keeping count Mel, and I want some photos on a Tim face-splat.

    Keep safe and dry. Send some rain our way.

    Paul and Helen

    Update 23rd September, 2005;

    Trek 121
    The group was up as early as 6am this morning for yet another walk along the Kokoda Trail. With the weather changing calls for the day, and the sun appearing ever so bright, it was a radiant day for all trekkers to start off.

    All trekkers have gone ahead with the rest of the porters, while Tony their guide is still in Menari village. At the moment his having problems with his two-way-radio, and can't use it to call us, however fortunately enough, Paulo, another guide who?s leading Trek 130, showed up in the since, with his two-way-radio.

    Tony used Paulo's radio to call us and give the latest progress of the group. He said all trekkers looked grate this morning, all fine and ready to hit their next destination. No problems or difficulties all seem relaxed when they headed out.

    Tony will soon catch up with the group when he is done. Otherwise, all is well, everyone is doing fantastic, and we?ll hear from them when they get to Efogi 1 village.

    I've (Jessie) been having problems with my computer lately, and have not been able to update reports, however, been login into aussie's (Gail) computer to update all reports of the trek.
    Paul, its good to hear from you again, I haven't spoken to the trekkers as they have gone ahead, but will try when they get to Efogi.

    Morning breakfast, at Menari village.

    Editors Note: Did I miss something, was Dr John Garrap's name mentioned somewhere else on this thread?

    Better be careful….as Jessie is related! Jessie is the adopted daughter of Samariti Garap and John is her eldest sibling. The family actually produced 3 doctors which is pretty special up here in PNG.
