On Wednesday we said goodbye to another group of trekkers who caught the flight to Kokoda for their long awaited trek.

Wayne Crosbie (Crosbie's Tyre Service) popped home for a visit and brought along with him four friends from Singapore. One Australian friend joined them here in PNG and all five when I met up with them the other night at the Gateway Hotel were looking relaxed and ready for their adventure.

    Trekkers included:

Wayne Crosbie, Kathleen Quinn, Simon Lansley, Lee Siah Chong & Kevin Batt

All trekkers overnighted at Rusty's place (Russell Eroro's family block) before departing today to walk up to Isurava where they will spend the night.

Yesterday they were welcomed with a traditional sing sing and the usual Oro Province welcome offered to all our trekkers by the Eroro family.

The group guide Glen Henson, gave me a call on the two-way-radio to inform me that they were up at Deniki look-out, having a time out rest, and soon after that they will be heading up to Isurava village. He said, so far, their performance have been really well, no ones struggling or having problems all seem to be doing just ok.

Weather not looking good at all, this time, it?s dull, and that?s also contributing to the two-way-radio not transmitting well, otherwise everyone?s fine and so is everything.

    Update 5th August, 2005;

    Trek 115
Up and bright this morning after a goodnight rest in Isurava village, all trekkers are well and yet looking forward for their day?s walk. Weather seems to be clearing off a bit, however still doesn?t look ok, but we?ll see how it goes as time passes by.

They are now in Isurava Battlefield, all trekkers are taking their time reading monuments and taking pictures of the memorial site. They will move down to Alola, which is about an hour or two walk from the Battlefield, have something to eat also get some good rest before moving down to Iora creek, where they will camp for the night.

Until further report of their whereabouts, the group now resides in Isurava Battlefield; all trekkers are ok and doing fine. They are very much enjoying their trek, telling stories, cracking jokes and laughing with their porters and guide as they march along.

More updates to be posted up later on?

    Update 5th August, 2005:

Tonight the group slept at Eora Creek along with two of our other treks. One of our guides by the name of Paulo was camped along with his trekkers who commenced walking from Ower's Corner.

Also there was a lone trekker led by another guide by the name of Tony Evari who is walking towards Ower's Corner with Tom one of our porters.

I am sure there would have been a lot of singing tonight when all the boys got together as they are always excited to meet up with each other

While the group was up at Brigade Hill, taking a time out rest, their guide Glen, gave me a call on the two-way-radio to inform me of their whereabouts and trekkers conditions. So far, he said all trekkers have done really, really well; none of them are facing difficulties or problems. All trekkers are well taken care of by their porters and guide.

They will head on to Menari after their rest up at Brigade Hill, and there, they will spend the night. Weather?s looking good at their end, so hopefully it will last the day.

Latest will be updated later on.

The group now resides in Nauro village. All trekkers are well and happy and all looking forward to moving on. At the moment the trekkers are resting and waiting for the porters who are down by the creek fetching water for them.

They slept at Menari village yesterday and tonight, they are planning on camping at Ofi creek. Weather looking good at their end, so hopefully will stay like that till evening falls. Other then that, all is well and everything?s fine.

Moving faster and getting to destinations on time, is what this group is doing. They are now up at Maguli Range taking a time out rest. All trekkers still doing great, they are all looking strong and fit. They will move down to Ofi creek when they are done, and get an early rest before they start tomorrow.

Their guide Glen, just informed me that all porters and trekkers have laundry to do, so I?m sure they will get straight into doing their laundry as soon as they get to the campsite.

All trekkers and porter are now up at Imita Ridge. They are currently taking a rest after that long and hard climb up. All are well, only they just need to catch their breath again, before proceeding down to their campsite.

Their guide Glen informed me that, all are happy out on the trail, enjoying it and can?t wait to finish tomorrow. They are planning on spending the night at Goldie River, and from there, move up to Owers Corner as early as 6am.
