MemberTrekkers had a tough day today and only reached Nauro Village around 6:30pm tonight. Apparently they moved slowly today due to some sore knees. Hopefully some rest tonight will do them a world of good and tomorrow they have a short day to Menari so time to recover.

MemberThis trek have stopped for the night at Menari Village. Trekkers and porters continue to do ok. Tomorrow will be a tough day as they have ahead of them Brigade Hill. Hopefully their knees recovered a little today. Its wet and slippery I have been informed so no doubt they are being very careful as they continue along the Kokoda Trail.

MemberArnold Jinga just called to say they are now at Efogi the half way point. He added, the worst trek he has ever been on. No, he is not talking about the trekkers, all good there, just the conditions. Its wet; the track has overgrown during the off season; bridges have been washed away etc. Today the walk should have taken 4 hours but it took 8 hours to walk from Menari to Efogi. He added that these three guys are toughing it out just like them but the going is tough! Trekkers were keen to hear the NRL score, Sea Eagles vs Eels. Hope they were not fans of the Sea Eagles!

MemberTrekkers have now reached Templeton's Crossing. They now have a dry track and are making good progress. Seems they have had the Kokoda Trail to themselves as they make their way towards the finish line. Tomorrow they plan on heading to Isurava Village for the night. No talk about sore knees so trekkers have bounced back and doing well.
Apparently they went for a was in the creek but soon got out saying it was to COLD.

MemberReceived a sat phone call around 6pm to say they have now reached Isurava Village so all good and heading for the finish line. Its a dry track at the opposite end of their trek so now making good progress. Tomorrow they will head to Kovelo for the night before walking off the track and under the archway in Kokoda on Sunday morning.

MemberLast night trekkers spent the night at Hoi Village as they wanted to swim in the creek. Picture them this morning as they make their way to the finish line at the Kokoda Archway. Later they will visit the Kokoda War Museum area before making their way down to Popondetta for the night.
