Late yesterday two trekkers flew into Popondetta from Tufi to head up to Kokoda to commence their trek. Eric Uwea is their guide and he was there waiting for them in Popondetta when they touched down. The couple from England were then driven up to Kokoda to spend the night,

Approx 10 days ago their food was flown over to Kokoda in anticipation of this couple arriving for their trek,

Last night they were invited guests at the Eroro family block where Emmanuel Eroro had kept our backpacks under his care. This morning the trek got away around 9am and by mid afternoon this trek walked into Isurava Village. Eric sent us a message to say they did well today. Picture them tomorrow as they walk into the Isurava Memorial area before moving off along the track, up through Alola, down to Eora Creek and all going to plan they will pull up at an area referred to as Dump 1 for the night. Trekkers on this trek are:

Eric called to say they are now at Efogi Village the half way point. Everyone is ok.

Big day ahead of them tomorrow with Brigade Hill; Menari Village, Agulogo and then on the Naoro for the night. Apparently the two trekkers from England are coping really well with the conditions.

Just received a sat phone call from Eric informing me they have now reached Naoro Village so another big day for the group. The plan tomorrow is to head to Ua'Ule Creek. They all continue to do well. Today the ran into three other trekking companies.

Congratulations are in order as today this trek walked under the archway at Owers' Corner. Well done to you all as this was a fast trek and to cover the distance in the time frame you chose was a gutsy effort. To Eric Uwea and other KTL staff, once again, great team work and a job well done. Last night was spent at Ua'Ule Creek.
