MemberMuch excitement as our 2nd trek for 2016 commenced today.
This trek flew over to Popondetta this morning and are now on the road to Kokoda. An early start up at 4:30am and at the airport by 5am and in the boarding lounge a short time later in time to catch their 6:45am flight. On arrival at Girua airport, they were met by our driver in two separate vehicles as the bridge joining Popondetta to the airport could not be crossed. So after hitching a ride from the airport side to the bridge…then they walked across bridge to the other side where another vehicle was waiting to drive them to Popondetta and later to Kokoda for the commencement of their trek. Trekkers in this group include : Stephen McCarthy; Norm Howe and Simon Birinder
