MemberThis morning saw another group of trekkers depart from Owers' Corner. They were up at 5am and on the bus by 6:00am and at Bomana some 20 minutes later. After looking around Bomana, they were driven out to the drop off point of Owers' Corner stopping at McDonald's Corner along the way. Trekkers in this group include :

MemberTrekkers arrived at Efogi the half way point mid morning but have not yet heard if they decided to stay there for the night or moving on to Kagi or Naduri. Will update as soon as I hear from them.
Update 6:30pm 27th May: Have just spoken to Clement Harika the guide for this trek. They have all safely reached Kagi Village. Everyone is well with no problems. Tomorrow they head to Templeton's Crossing.

MemberAs planned this trek reached Templeton's Crossing earlier this afternoon according to Clement their guide. He informed me they have no problems and tomorrow they head to Isurava Village for their last night on the track. Clement asked about Antony and how he was going. Its just so nice to know our staff are asking about him and checking on his progress.
Tomorrow the group will commence their walk up through Alola Village for morning tea before heading down to Isurava Memorial. After stopping to pay their respects, the group will continue further to Isurava Village. No doubt they would have seen Kokoda in the distance from the Mt Bellamy area so know they are not that far from the finish line in Kokoda. If not already excited, this will encourage them further as the edge towards Kokoda.

MemberUpdate 28th May
Clement phoned in a short time ago to say they are now at Isurava Village having passed through Isurava Memorial earlier this afternoon. Despite a few blisters here and there, all trekkers are ok and looking forward to walking off the trail tomorrow. It may change but he has given me an estimated timeslot of 11:30am through the archway in Kokoda.
Update 29th May
Up bright and early they left Isurava Village and headed down through the wild choko fields to Deniki. Have just heard they have reached Hoi and now heading to Kovelo.
Update 29th May
At 12:15pm today 13 trekkers from trek 1043 passed through the archway having successfully completed their trek.
Congratulations to everyone on trek 1043 from us here at Kokoda Trekking.
