Trek 1041 got underway this morning when trekkers flew over to Popondetta around 7am this morning where they were met and driven up to Orohaven Pija for morning tea before heading on up to Kokoda to commence their walk. Their guide is Sione Orosambo from Pija: Trekkers include :

[*]Robert StephensonA short time ago I received a phone call from Sione to say they arrived at Isurava Village around 5p this afternoon where they are spending the night. Everyone is going really well at this stage of their trek.
Creek near Isurava Village.jpgTrekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi where they are spending the night. An earlier day for them today as they arrived in Efogi mid afternoon and in time for a rest before another big day tomorrow when they head to Naoro. Everyone continues to do well.

efogi.jpgFollowing Efogi, this group headed to Naoro where they spent the night. Last night was at an area called 'Goodwater' in readiness for their finish at Owers' Corner this morning.

Going down to Ua'Ule Creek from Imita.jpgCongratulations are now in order as this group walked off the track this morning and were at Bomana War Cemetery paying their respects around 9am. Well done guys from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking. Photographs of their trek will be posted later today. These guys fly out today with Virgin and another group fly in with Air Niugini/Qantas and head over to Popondetta tomorrow.
