These two trekkers had a very frustrating time trying to reach Papua New Guinea to walk the Kokoda Trail.

They were supposed to arrive on the 11th October but Air Niugini cancelled their flight and rebooked them for a flight last night that arrived in Port Moresby early hours of this morning 13th Oct.

Our staff in Port Moresby met the two trekkers, namely:

      [*]Pierre Guern
      [*]Anouk Molliex

They went to our base to rest for awhile before heading to Vision City to fix a pair of glasses, out to Bomana, then to Owers' Corner for the commencement of their trek.

These trekkers are setting a cracking pace as tonight finds them at Ioribaiwa Village. Seeing as they arrived from a night flight from Singapore shows they were not feeling tired as they pushed along the track. Apparently they wanted to push on to Ofi Creek but our guide pulled them up. Tomorrow the plan is to reach Brigade Hill. Picture them tomorrow as they make their way along the track.

As planned this group are spending the night at Brigade Hill. I spoke to Pierre and he sounded so happy and thanked us for helping them out due to their flight cancellation from Singapore. He said they are having an awesome time.

Trekkers were again powering along this morning when they crossed paths with our trekkers walking in the opposite direction at 1900/Myola Junction. The plan was to reach Eora Creek for there 3rd night on the track.

Congratulations are in order as trekkers are already in Kokoda having arrived there today. Well done, a super effort. Might have taken a bit longer had it been wet and slippery but all in all, a very gutsy job well done. Thanks for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking. As they have arrived early, they will overnight at the Plantation guesthouse area and will be picked up tomorrow morning and be driven down to Popondetta for their flight back to Port Moresby. The next day they plan on heading to Alotau for some R & R.
