Trek 1039 – Trek Completed

[Boss Meri]

Three trekkers had an early start this morning when they were driven down to the airport to book in around 5:30am. At Popondetta airport they were met and driven up to Kokoda. I received a message at 11:30am saying they were about to head out onto the track. Trekkers in this group include :

The first night on the track was spent at Isurava Village.

Last night at Dump 1 and today they are heading to Efogi Village the half way point.

Message from the track from Ernst Jinga their guide: Hi boss Meri, we arrived in Nauro at 4:30pm and 5:30 respectively. Stephanie is doing really fine and is way ahead with Trevor. The two men are struggling but are doing well, just a bit slower pace. tomorrow we will head to Goodwater.

Its been a big day for this group again today. Stephanie made it to 'Goodwater' earlier than the two guys who toughed it out.Heard from the track that some of our staff wanted to take some gear off them to make it easier but they refused wanting to tough it out themselves. They plan on walking off the track and under the archway at Owers' Cnr around 9am tomorrow morning.

Congratulations for all of us here at Kokoda Trekking as trekkers walked off the track yesterday morning. Well done everyone, you selected a 'fast trek' which is really hard and you all managed to complete it.
