    Trek 102 were up bright and early this morning for their flight to Kokoda. In typical fashion, Airlines of PNG told us to be there at 6am for the first flight to Kokoda. We had trekkers there on time but others had walked through the door before us and were automatically put on the first flight.

    After booking trekkers in, my business partner Russell Eroro and myself took them on a sightseeing tour around Port Moresby which they appeared to have enjoyed.

    Their flight eventually took off for Kokoda around 9am.

    Trekkers – Lesley Press; Rhys Williams; Jennifer Robison; Toby Robison; Mark Elvins; Jonathon Mant; Robert Holloway; Kelly Holloway; Bruno Holloway; Brett Deacon; Lauren Deacon; Trevor Clisby; Zoe Fielding; Mick Fennell; Peter Jessep; Renee Sandells & Adam Sandells on the steps of the Gateway Hotel 18th September, 2005:

    Update 21st September, 2005;

    Trek 102
    Due to bad weather along the Kokoda area, we were not able to make any contacts with this group. However today, we finally caught up with their guide Justice who gave us call on the two-way-radio, up the pannacle of Mt Bellamy, to give their groups progress so far.

    ?Though it?s tough, everyone is doing terrific. No injuries or problems, all trekkers are slowly coping well with the track and also the time, so that?s good. Tonight we are camping down in Myola Junction, and from there will move out tomorrow. I don?t think I will call you when we get to Myola, due to our location, but will call you when we come out tomorrow.
    We spent the first night at Russell?s family block, followed by Isurava Village, where we spent the second and the last night was at Eora Creek,? reported Justice.

    Other then that, everything is going ok, all are fine, but the weather looks a bit dull, which means they might have a few showers later on tonight.

    Blake & Kim, I haven?t passed on your message to the trekkers, as they have already gone ahead with the other porters to set camp, but will try to pass it on tomorrow.

    Update 22nd September, 2005;

    Trek 102
    The group have reached Efogi 1 village where they have planned to spend the night. All trekkers are doing absolutely, no injuries or problems. Although, the weather is playing wild at this time, the trekkers are walking well, handling the slippery and muddy grounds with good care.

    They will move up to Menari village tomorrow and there will spend the next night. Otherwise, everything else is fine.

    Passed on all messages to Lauren and Brett, and they were delighted to hear from you all. They tried to give a reply but, due to reception not clear they were unable too, but said to say thank you.

    Update 23rd September, 2005;

    Trek 102
    The group is now at Menari village, taking a lunch break and soon will head on to Nauro village where they will camp for the night.

    All trekkers look healthy, strong, and still have the strenght to continue on to Nauro village. All are well having a good time and enjoying their trek.

    Their guide Justice just reported that, his two-way-radio batteries are down at the moment, which means he will not be unable to make any radio contacts at this time. However, if by chance he dose use the Nauro base radio, then we might be hearing from them.

    Otherwise, all is looking good at their end, only the weather looks a bit dull, so don't know if it'll rain.

    Well guys, sounds like your making very good progress.

    Actually it also sounds like your having quite a fun time – walking a while, sitting around eating, listening and singing along to the ukelule whilst cooling down a little under a light tropical shower. Your making us all jealous!!!!

    Your 3/4 way there! Keep on supporting each other and you will do it!!!
