MemberDo you have a Favourite Kokoda training Location in Australia? We have many trekkers who would like to learn about the different training locations available to them whilst they prepare for there Kokoda Trekking Adventure!
Some of the trekking locations we know our Trekkers train at are :
1000 Steps – Melbourne
Mount – Cootha – Brisbane
Mount Warning – NSW (Short Drive from Gold Coast or about 1Hr 30min fro Brisbane)If you have any information please do share in the conversation so we can do some further research to help.
Please remember Bush Walking whilst fun can be dangerous so please take caution and advise family/friends of your planned trip prior to departing.

MemberPerrys Lookdown.
Its just outside of Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. We did it a couple of times while preparing for our trek. Try and do it in the heat of summer for the true PNG effect.

MemberA few recommendation from trekkers :
Zac McHardy : "Mt Cootha in Brisbane have a track called Kokoda. Its intense but you short I think 800ms all up. Up and down I go."
Ali McGovern :"Mt Cootha Kokoda track and others. They start from Gap Creek Road Reserve carpark. Also the Gold Coast hinterland Kokoda Challenge track – 96 km of steep challenging tracks. Also found some good little publicised walks around Burleigh through a site called Judd Adventures. Loving the training! Need more days in the week"
Michelle Weller Hickmott : "Mt Macedon in Victoria, about 50mins from CBD, there's a great goat track up to the cross plus many more."
Jodi Hicks : "Mt Macedon!! We live in a beautiful spot! perfect training for Kokoda!!"
Bec Elsworthy : "End of hasting street noosa great stairs to very step hill to look out national park!"
