MemberHi There,
I'm in Sydney's inner west (Marrickville) and am trekking in April. Wondering if anyone is interested in meeting up for some training? I would love a buddy!

MemberHi Anthea,
I'm part of a group trekking Kokoda in July. We regularly do training walks in the Blue Mountains, with the next one on Sunday February 1st. You are welcome to join us. We will be walking down Pearces Pass to the Blue Gum Forest then back with a possible jaunt up and down Perrys Lookdown. Tom.

MemberHi
Whilst I trekked last September/October if there is anyone in the Brisbane/Logan area who is thinking of going and wants someone to train with them I am only too happy to step in as the training will do me more good than harm whilst helping to keep the weight down. Besides it sure beats sitting around watching the black box etc.

MemberSomeone should start a Sydney based walkers club,,Im sure everyone will continue walking as a hobby after Kokoda.
We are doing the BlueGum Forest at Blackheath this Sunday,,just a quick 4 hour walk down to the bottom and back up with all our gear.
We are doing Kokoda in July and are in training.
Might even have a beer at the pub on the way back.22/03/2009 at 7:37 am #101769tombar
MemberHi Peter,
Are you going via Perrys Lookdown? I understand we need to be able to do it twice in a day to be "Kokoda comfortable"

MemberYea we did go via Perry's look down.
Ive done a bit of hiking and its the steepest track Ive ever been on.
Its not so much a track as a goat track hacked into the side of the cliff face, its all steps and ledges.I could not have done it twice in a day I dont think.
There was actually a couple of people doing it twice yesterday (sunday) who were in training for Kokoda,,wasnt you was it?
There was anther guy we spoke to who was walking from the Mt Victoria side, he walked up to Perrys and then back again to Mt Vic with His partner.23/03/2009 at 6:52 am #101773tombar
