On Saturday morning at 7am, Tom Hango was among 30 competitors who left Owers' Corner in a race hoping to win this years event and win he did! Always in with a chance, Tom had previously came 3rd in our first race in 2005, 6th after a bout of Malaria in 2006 and now first across the line in 2007:
Tom is just so EXCITED and is walking around with a permanent smile
on his face! With Brendan we would need to inform you who he is and the records he has set as he is a quiet humble guy. Tom on the other hand loves a conversation and will no doubt be raving about his win for a long time to come.Unfortunately for Tom, he did not break Brendan's record set in August last year in a time of 17 hours 49 minutes.
Tom's time to win this years race in much worse conditions, was 19 Hours 9 Minutes.
Well done Tom, we are Kokoda Trekking are really proud of you!
