    Latest update on the trail, Day 2;

    Last night at around 12pm mid-night, the radio went dead on us. We could not get the latest report, as to who or which runner passed Efogi 1 village, check-point 4, apart from the first 3 who passed in at 10:30pm, followed by another 2 who passed half an hour later 11:00pm and another one who clocked in at 11:30pm, giving a total of 6 runners, who have passed and registered in check-point 4.

    Before the race started yesterday, Russell and Gail made it known to all the check-point holders that incase of such problems, each check-point holder must have a pen and paper to record all runners placing and time, in order to fill us in on the latest progress as soon as the radio comes back on. So, I?m pretty sure all check-point holders are doing that right now. The radio is still dead at this time, so will just wait and see how it goes.

    Pictured here, are the runners reading and listening to the rules and regulations of the race. Fifth to the left is Wayne Urina (KTL), who's current leading, on Wayne's right is another KTL runner, who in second place at the moment Bernard Aruo, and on Wayne's left is Tom Hunga (KTL), currently in sixth place.

    The radio network is offline late in the afternoon due to low battery (it's solar powered). Gail and the other organisers are waiting at Ower's Corner for the other runners to arrive. They haven't yet returned to town to give us more update.

    Here's a message for Tom Hango.

    Hi Tom, I just read on the internet that you came third in the 24 hour race! Congratulations – that's amazing. It's good to hear that you finished safe and sound and I hope all the other KTL boys did too! We are all back at work now but I hope to have some photos to send you soon.

    Stay well and take care !
