“THE truth about war lies not in peak action; it’s in the eyes of the men as they go into battle,” wrote the great combat photographer Damien Parer.
“It’s in the fear, the intense mateship, the humour; it’s in the daily detail of their lives, the casual heroism, the bloody death alongside them.” And , another singular production this year from the ABC, brings alive the story of the devoutly Catholic cameraman who always wanted to be ahead of the attacking troops so that his camera could see them as the enemy saw them.

MemberYou may have seen him on Australian Television as the talented Dr Patrick Reid (Offspring). Now you will get to see him tonight portraying the life of Damien Parer (Australian War Photographer). ABC 8:30pm
We had the pleasure of welcoming Matthew Le Nevez who walked with Kokoda Trekking as part of Trek 899 in May 2013!
Matt walked the track to help prepare for his upcoming TV movie "Parer's War" based on the life of Damien Parer.
"Who Weekly Magazine" recently did an interview with Matthew which is also available in stores now.
Don't miss Parer's War as I am sure it is going to be a fantastic show. Can't wait to watch it Matt!
