Necessity Of Rabies Shots ?

Hi All,

Am leaving in 3 weeks. All shots done except for Rabies. My doctor advised that it was a possibility – but unlikely unless I got bitten by something that had rabies. Normally I have all shots recommended but she said it was quite expensive etc. I ahve spoken to a few other people who didn't ahve a rabies shot.

Just woindering what the consensus on this site is….and if someone has done a few treks whether it is likely I will come into contact with animals with a high rabies risk.

All help appreciated.

There is no rabies in PNG, a lot of other things, but no rabies.
