MemberWhen it comes to river crossings, the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels of today wont be far away! Even when you think they are not watching you….just you wait and see….if you were to accidentally fall in….you would be amazed at the speed these guys move.
Their balance is also unbelievable…with shoes…no shoes…doesnt seem to matter. The boys of Kokoda have grown up on these rivers and others like them and nothing stops them from crossing over.
Last year in June Port Moresby and surrounding areas experienced the highest rainfall since 1963 and we had one of the biggest treks of all on the go….the Aussie High Comm Trek with heaps of Federal Police.
In Port Moresby I had wives….girlfriends….mothers phoning me knowing their loved ones were on the trail. It rained and rained and still our boys got them across all the rivers and back in Port Moresby right on deadline and no-one missed their flight back home.
On that trek I was just so proud of the Guides and Porters. On one occasion it took over 3 hours just to make a river crossing over Nauro River…but they did it. They then had to test it and then coax trekkers to cross.

MemberHere at Kokoda Trekking there is nothing we like more than seeing a group of trekkers head out for the adventure of their life.
It is an exciting time for us as we welcome to PNG….check on your progress….and then say hi to you all over again at the end of your trek.

MemberIf you are looking for the trek of your life, why dont you too…come to PNG and experience life out on the Kokoda Trail.
Spend some time with our porters and guides and go back with plenty of positive stories to tell about your PNG experience.
Sure the Kokoda Trail is famous because of World War II but hey its fun out there and there is so much to enjoy.
You have villages all along the way….lots of rivers to cross…..have you ever stayed in a Guesthouse? …. I bet you have never walked up and down hills like on the Owen Stanley Ranges and so much more!
Looking forward to seeing you in PNG sometime SOON!
