MemberHi Folks
I am sure that we will not really be lonely with the Ukulele playing singing porters and Wallace as our guide at present there are only two of us on Trek 435 would sure like you to join us particularly if you a looking for a smaller, I am sure friendly, trekking group to join.
Possibly you are like myself not joining with a group of family or friends well join trek 435 and make some new friends. Possibly if you are in or in a near Brisbane area if you are interested in doing so we can get together before hand.
I am doing a 3-4 hour walk early this Monday Labour Day 5th May Mt Coot-tha if interested leave a reply here and I will get back to you.
See you in Trek 435?
Brian

MemberHi Brian,
Have this week signed up for Trek 435 (name hasn't appeared on the website yet). Can't wait for September now, and will be spending the next 11 weeks climbing up & down the stairs at work to get in shape. Unfortunately no hills close to home, so restricts the hikes to weekends.
Cheers Ian

MemberHi Ian
Really great to have you along and extend an invitation to anyone else who would like to join our group.
I am actually now staying on in Kokoda until the 8th as I feel it is a long way to walk without actually experiencing Kokoda and those living there.
Not aware where you live,I am in the Brisbane area and whilst a little limited we do have a couple of training areas nearby which I am trying to get as much in as possible myself.
I am staying in the Gateway the night before we leave.
Have all my gear together now and cannot wait for the trek to take place.
Look forward to meeting up with you soon.

MemberBrian, we had two 70 + year old's complete the trek in the past couple of weeks and they did really really well.
I think older people probably take it more seriously and actually put in quite a bit of training like you are constantly doing.

MemberHi Brian,
I have just returned home to Victoria from attending the official dedication, Friday last, of the Kokoda Memorial Wall at Cascade Gardens, Broadbeach. Due to the wet weather on the day prior, the ceremony was transferred to The Southport School Chapel.
If you are not already aware of this Memorial I am sure you would gain added inspiration for your up-coming trek if you were able to visit it . I understand there is to be a public opening on Friday 8th August,"Kokoda Day". Further details should be available from The Gold Coast City Council.
Kind regards,Geoff Hardie
