    March Update:

Trek 1 – Back safe and sound and trekkers already back in Japan

Trek 2 – Adam Brent already back in Chicago. Other aussie trekkers departing today after spending a few days at Loloata Dive Resort. Sean gave us a few anxious moments when he was medevaced out by helicopter but is ok and was released from hospital midway through the week.

Trek 3 – Also returned from the trail in good shape and thrilled with the experiences they shared. Both uni students are still in PNG and are planning on walking up Mt Wilhelm.

Trek 4 Excellent News….our last trek for March made it home today, all covered in mud but other than that safe and well. I teased Russell by saying, you have another trek heading back out on Wednesday and they have asked for you. The look said it all…. Eric was in the background smiling away as I let him know I was only joking. This was Russell's second trek for the month and at 2pm this arvo it looked like it too. He now has a rest until mid April when he leads another group out on the trail. Eric heads out first with the guys on a 6 day trek. Russell has already had one of these this month so will leave it for Eric.

I asked Al (trekker from England) how he like the trek and he replied, great adventure or something to those words. I will try and get more out of him tonight.

Aussie trekkers head home, 21st March, 2004 after spending the past couple of days at Loloata Dive Resort on the outskirts of Port Moresby.

As you can see, Sean Cartwright is ok and heading home with his friends after having been airlifted off the kokoda trail by helicopter. Fortunately he was released earlier in the week from hospital and was able to also spend a few days at Loloata.

    Trek 4 – March, 2004

Welcome home guys, you had a tough time out there with the strong winds, falling trees, houses being blown away! Alastair Briggs has been travelling for 9 months and said it was one of the best things he has ever done in his life and that HE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK one day!

Left to Right, Russell Eroro (Kokoda); Al Briggs (England), Russell's brother Johnsford & other Sogeri wantoks of Eric Uwea who helped give moral support and aid with the pick up vehicle.
