MemberKOKODA CHALLENGE RACE 2013 – this race will commence in KOKODA on the 31st August and will finish at Owers' Corner on the 1st September. In this year's race, a group of Australian's who had entered the 2012 Kokoda Challenge Race were overheard to say that this race is only for 'experts' but is highly recommended for anyone who has the fitness, mental attitude and ability to compete Trek 908:
For anyone entering, you would need to plan to arrive in Port Moresby on the 29th August where you will overnight before heading over to the Oro Province on the morning of the 30th August where you will be guests at our base, Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. On the day of the race, you will be driven up to the Kokoda Station archway in readiness for a 7am start.

MemberThe Kokoda Challenge Race 2012. Competitors lined up at the Kokoda Archway for a 7am start on Saturday 25th August. Some 18:28 hours later a porter who works for Kokoda Trekking by the name of Ramsy Idau came through the Owers' Corner archway as the trek hero for 2012. Results are as follows:
1st place – Ramsy Idau from Saga Village in Kokoda in a time of 18:28:00 – Prize Money – K10,000
2nd place – Horace Yauga from Eora Block in Kokoda in a time of 18:51:31 – Prize Money – K2500
3rd place – Chris Wight – from Australia in a time of 19:26:31. In a nice gesture by Chris, his winnings of K1500 was handed down the line to
4th place – Cyprian Aire – from Ajeka midway from Kokoda to Popondetta. His prize money was then handed down to 5th
5th place – Damon Goerke – from Australia – time 19:59:05. Damon followed in the path of Chris white and handed down his win of K500 to:
6th place – Luana Nagas in a time of 20:12:30
7th place – Richard Mountstephen – time 21.52.33
8th place – Jonathan O'Loughlin – time 22:15:00 (9th home overall)
9th place – equal with Andrew Yauga and Tony Ogomeni – Time 26:43:28
10th place – equal with William Bennett and Lawrence Umbu – time 31:09:10
11th place – Pescol Kageni -time 32:46:56
12th place – Henson Konene – time 33:39:48
13th place – Jessie Aire – Time 33.48.38
14th place – John Sanana – Time 34.45.50
15th place – Dave Jennings – time 34.45.50
16th place – equal – Makoto Yoshimoto; Yukiya Higuhi; David Idau and Aidan Bauba – time 42.56.36
